Watch out ! Its photo time with Uncle Gordo!

Well its been about a month since I moved up here. Regret not one single thing about moving here, which has been great. Been travelling around a heap, up to Sunshine Coast, down to the Gold Coast, around Brisbane and lots of other places. Everything is unbelieveable up here and so much better, and I don't think I'll be coming back to VIC anytime soon unless on holiday. Up here *every* day feels like a holiday :P

Anyhow, had my fun and my semi-holiday, now its the new year better get serious about finding work and boring stuff like that.

So I've been going crazy with the digital camera on my travels.. some large photos here, but most of you are slacking off at work so i'm sure its not too much troublez :)

Rainforest up near Birra Burra and of course some skylines:

BAHAHA, umm im getting ready to go out, the 'tuning' will be done later tonight on the dyno... :zap:

hehe, its kind of a long drive though, although not that bad as long as some f*cker truck doesn't rip your door off! New panel goes on tomorrow, then at some stage i'll get them painted - i'll post a pic, the multicoloured 33 :P

yup, its really good - i'm sure the "new" feeling will where off a bit when i have to do boring things like work, etc but for now its awesome..

btw: note my new sig :)

are you there forever now?

make sure you go to woodford folk festival from 26th of decemder - 1st of jan (end of the year i know) awesome, been twice, once as a guest and once as a performer. and its boiling but pissing down rain, and they are all free lovin hippies there, i may go this year to play drums

so yes

GO!

Stands up and salutes his home state...

Nice pics gordo, the drive to the glass house mountains is very scenic... Did u make it up to coolum and noosa?

We could do a whole promotional campaign, where we take pics from our day to day lives, just to rub it in a touch, lol.

The feeling of being on holiday never wears off, well its hasnt for 14 months for me :D Qld is not just a place to live, its a lifestyle

hehe, it would be too easy! yeah, lots of photos have turned out great. Made it up to Noosa for a bit (although it was a bit grey at the time) but believe it or not i think its way overrated, seemed pretty shitty to me. Better beaches and lots of other things many other places.

my mate who was up for a couple of weeks and had never been, quickly came to the conclusion it was better than melbourne and i just said "well told you so, now back down to melbourne with u and all the other mexicans! :D"

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
