NSNPWR
Is the AFM in the cooler piping somewhere else, or is it another ECU like a PFC D-Jetro hidden inside the factory ECU case....... SECURITY
that sensor looks like an air temp sensor so im guessing that there is an aftermarket ECU inside the standard ecu housing. probably something like a link g4 or a vipec. check if there is a USB cable coming out of the ECU. NSNPWR
No there is not usually a vac line running to the ECU, could be a Microtech, they have built in MAP sensor....I find it amusing you bought this car without knowing such basic things about it like the ECU its running... XRATED
If I didn't know the type of mangment system in a car I just bought... the first thing I would do is throw it on the rollers to check out the tune... Make shure it's not running some "fully hecktic sick... timing" J. l0WRB
judging by the external gate 4" intake and most likely after market turbo id say its running a map sensor'd ecu... tridentt150v
Ooh I don't know about that, a bargain is a bargain.............maybe thats what he had?? Anyway whats all the fuss about, a sub $1500 ECU, how many people here purchased their car to find some no brand aftermarket jap rechip or some such. I can't see any real difference TBH. SECURITY
Do you realise how many cars come with mods from jap? I know guys who have stripped down motors and found forgies and cams. Also finding aftermarket turbos isn't uncommon either. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/310341-confused/#findComment-5114293 Share on other sites
tridentt150v
Exactly right Security, as long as the price is right and the total package is good to go.........it only matters what you do with it after you got it that counts. So a check over and tune and and maybe a plan for what the car needs and what mods your looking at doing are the main points, not what happened before you got it. And if its no good then you wouldn't have purchased it in the first place hopefully. @1dan
yeah thanks anyhow i actually dont know the last owner as it was a trade in at my families car yard he upgraded to a newer car...the car drives perfect and has been well looked after according to all the recipts in the glove box i have only had it for a week and have not had enough time to investigate every thing with work taking most of my time.... i guess only thing left to do would be to un do the stard computer and have a look in behind it.
