ive finally got my own hosting if anyone needs anything stored/hosted let us know

did you use the "SPECIAL20OFF" code?

also... wtf:

Offering video and/or audio streaming or downloads, MP3 Files, Games and shareware is also not permitted on any Just Host server.

Users may not run cron entries with intervals of less than 15 minutes

Users may not use 25% or more of system resources for longer than 90 seconds. There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc.

While our shared services are suitable for the bulk of our customers, there comes a time for some websites when they are better suited for a larger plan, which allows for more dedicated CPU and memory resources. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to discontinue service to any customer with a website or other hosted data that takes up more than 10% of the server resources and/or 10% of the server's CPU.

The use of more than 50,000 inodes on any shared account may potentially result in suspension. Accounts found to be exceeding the 50,000 inode limit will automatically be removed from our backup system to avoid overusage. Every file (a webpage, image file, email, etc) on your account uses up 1 inode.

If you get 60 days behind in making payments, your data will be deleted.

Also... who the hell puts banner ads and popups in their cPanel interface, which is running at a version from about a year back.

Apparently as their servers get more and more full (cos you're sharing with other users on that rack) the bandwidth and connector allocation to your sites drop.

Fuck that off for a joke. Paul I thought you were in the know with this sorta stuff... why'd you go with a crummy reseller?

funky you know your iShit yeah?

sent my iphone off to be repaired/replaced (f**ked it up real good so hopefully replaced), but I wanna know if

A) when I get the new one, if I connect it to my PC and hit restore in iTunes, will it restore all the shit from the last sync/backup of the other iphone, and get back all my messages/apps etc...

and b) if the answer to a is no, is there a way to access any of that stuff through the backup files that itunes would save somewhere when you backup/sync the phone?

Anyone bought a modified car from interstate before?

I'm wondering if it would be hard to get registered.

This is seriously tempting me...

sif pay that much for shitty old 15 year rule import. Betcha half those mods came with it and the original importer paid 10 grand for it. He probably munted the engine, considering he bought a prebuilt engine and dropped it in.

also...

keep in mind, if you want to make more power (say 200-220rwkw+) you will need to seriously consider a water to air intercooler. This will cost a good $3k (items including installation).

This was something I didn't consider when I dropped a bigger turbo on mine *sigh*

I have a 3076R and I don't make boost until 4300rpm *sigh* Should've bought a GT28

Reason he upgraded his ECU? He couldn't get his AVCR to work

Just thinking back, i tought my gf how to drive manual in my mr2 at the beginning of this year! thats the good thing about having a big laggy turbo i suppose. I wouldnt let her drive very fast at all.. 2am on a VERY wide/dead road lol. Took no chances.

nga wat? Oh that explains the $1400 Heavy Duty Clutch.

GTFO. I will personally punch you on the cock if you buy this car jizzy boy. Offer him 12k and no more. If he says no, walk away happily knowning you've saved yourself a huge headache trying to get it recomplied/registered in VIC. (15 year compliance rules are different from state to state, so you'll need a eng cert to show VicRoads.)

No it won't restore if they give you a new phone with a new IMEI. If they give you the old phone refurb'd with the old IMEI then you might be able to do it.

and no, there isn't.

Welcome to the lock down world of apple. This is why I don't use iTunes to manage my iPhone.

Whoah, thanks Shan. I seriously had no idea. F*ck. You saved my ass big time. I'll be crossing that car off my list now.

wouldnt touch a modded import from interstate, there are plenty of cars in victoria anyway

Not MR2s there isn't... I'm specifically looking for something that has already gone through a forged rebuild.

they are pretty hardy engines, wouldnt matter if it didnt have it as long as it has a healthy engine

but that red one sounds a bit to tampered with

heres one, i know how all you guys like your skittles

I've had my eye on that yellow one too.

Things that turn me off...

1) It's got 190,000 on the clock (and was probably already wound back when imported)

2) It's owned by a P plater

Plus that needs more money spent. There's no way I'd be driving around in a stock bodied MR2 with stock wheels, especially a yellow one.

Factor in respray, kit and wheels... Another $8000 at least. Plus new tail lights. Those ones are faded. Yeah I'm that picky :P

I drive 1000km a week so I'm looking for something very solid.

Dezz - Centrecom HQ is saying the notebook accessories are "while stocks last", but you might be able to get a promise out of them depending on which store you go to

Now I need to make them give me a 17" bag and mouse

Ergh... Also just spotted that it has twin 4.5 inch cannons. And... wait for it... king springs ? FAIL.

New exhaust + coilovers. Factor in another $3k.

See what I mean now? :P I just want to get in a completed car and drive it.

who really cares? for $5 a month it's fine

like i care of im on a shared box with some other knob websites etc

i got frustrated with my paulr33 vhost breaking everytime the forums got upgraded, so it made sense to get my own hosting

i have no interest in crons, audio streams, excessive inodes and so on

i read all the terms and they seemed reasonable for the price

here's a novel idea. Buy something that was made in the last 10 years. Not something from the 90's that will need maintenance/rebuild/refreshing.

Name some decent cars from recent and I'll consider.

Must be turbo, 2 door, RWD/AWD and handle well. I prefer something with a low roof line and sleek body.

Oh and 20k budget.

Kgo :P

And forget S15s... Way too common for my liking.

I'll give it a try when the new one gets here....won't be for a few weeks yet anyway..

Worst case I'll miss out on the bag etc...while the free shit is good, I'm waitin for this PC to go before I get the lappy...You could probably get most of that free shit out of em if you really wanted anyway..

    • Thanks for all the replies fellas. Gonna finish putting it back together and see how it handles the set up. If it starts pinging it’ll be parked.
    • Well, I can recommend the partial AV system translation CD I ordered from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. Whilst it didn't address the date issue, it has conveniently translated on-screen menu items into English, and now allows the GPS-received time to be offset in hours rather than minutes, so I can display Eastern Australian time accurately ( and bump it by another hour when daylight savings starts ).
    • Yuh, if it's 45°C outside, my car is driving in it.
    • I'd be curious to hear more. Otherwise, have you driven a modern x-trail? I wonder how it compares. Here in Australia they are/were popular for rentals and fleet vehicles. I have been in some and my impression was they are bad. But, this may have been very different in the 2000s at a good trim level. Twenty years is plenty of time to make the model worse. I do very much agree with the 2 silver cars in the garage approach. But, not driving because it's too hot would not leave a lot of time in the year for many Australians. I don't think you need to worry too much unless the car has actual issues with overheating.
    • Back again. I returned to Japan in Jul/Aug to spend time with the car on my birthday and remind myself what all the sacrifice and compromise is for. It happened to line up with the monthly morning meet in Okutama, which I have been wanting to go to for a long time. It's a unique event at a unique spot with really rare, interesting, and quirky cars. It's where all the oldheads and OGs gather. The nighttime scene at DKF certainly has its place and should be experienced if you're into cars, but there's too much bad attention and negativity around it now. IMO the better time is Sunday morning at DKF or Okutama; it's more chill and relaxed. I'm glad I was finally able to go, but not sure it's worth the drive from all the way from Nagoya immediately the day before, unless I was already staying in Tokyo for the days right before the meet, because you have to wake up quite early to make it in time. Funnily enough though I didn't drive the car all that much this trip because it was just too damn hot. While there were zero issues and running temps were nominal and the A/C was strong, RBs already run crazy hot as it is. Sure, it took it all like a champ but something about driving these cars in the ridiculous heat/humidity bothers me and makes me feel like I'm asking too much of it. I'm just me being weird and treating the car like a living thing with feelings; I'm mechanically sympathetic to a fault. Instead I was mainly driving something else around - a KX4(silver) 2001 X-Trail GT, that I acquired in May. There's a few different flavors to choose from with Xs, but visually it's the Nissan version of the Honda CR-V. Mechanically it's a whole different story as this, being the top-trim GT, has an SR20VET mated to a four-speed auto and full-time AWD! It was a very affordable buy in exceptional condition inside and out, with very low mileage...only 48k kms. Most likely it was owned by an older person who kept it garaged and well-maintained, so I'm really happy with how it all worked out. It literally needs zero attention at the moment, albeit except for some minor visual touch-ups. I wanted something quirky, interesting, and practical and for sure it handily delivers on all three of those aspects. I was immediately able to utilize the cargo and passenger capacity to its full extent. It's a lot of fun to drive and is quite punchy through 1st and 2nd. It's very unassuming -in the twisty bits it's a lot more composed than one would think at a glance- and it'll be even better once I get better tires on it(yes, it's an SUV but still a little boat-y for my liking). So...now I have two golden-era Nissans in silver. One sports car and one that does everything else; the perfect two-car solution I think👍 The rest of the trip...I was able to turn my stressed brain off and enjoy it, although I didn't quite get to do as much as I thought. I did some interesting things, met some interesting people, and happened into some interesting situations however, that's all for another post though only if people really want to know. Project-wise, I went back to Mine's again to discuss more plans and am hoping to wrap that up real soon; keep watching this space if that interests you. Additionally, while working in the tormenting sweatbox that is the warehouse, I was able to organize most of the myriad of parts that my friend is storing for me along with the cars, and the 34 has a nice little spot carved out for it: And since it can get so stupid hot in there, that made it all the more easy -after I was standing there looking at the car and said 'f**k it'- to finally remove all the damn gauges that have mostly been an eyesore all this time. Huzzah. The heat basically makes the adhesive backing on the gauge mounts more pliable to work with, so it was far less stressful getting this done. I didn't fully clean it up or chase the wiring though; that will happen once I have the car in closer possession. Another major reason to remove all that stuff is to give people less reasons to get in my car and steal s**t while it's being exported/imported when/if the time comes, which leads us to my next point... ...and that is even though it's time in Japan is technically almost up since it's a November car and the X would be coming in March, I'm still not entirely sure where my life and career is headed; I don't really know what the future looks like and where I'm going to end up. I feel there's a great deal of uncertainty with me and as a result of that, it feels like I'm at a crossroads moreso now than any point in my life thus far and there are some choices I need to make. Yes, I've had some years to consider things and prepare myself, however too much has happened in that time to maintain confidence and everything feels so up in the air; tenuous one might say. Simply put, there's just too much nonsense going on right now from multiple vectors. Admittedly, I'm struggling to stay in the game and keep my eyes on the prize. So much so in fact, that very recently I came the closest I ever have before to calling it quits outright; selling everything and moving on and not looking back. The astute among you will pick up on key subtext within this paragraph. In the meantime I've still managed to slowly acquire some final bits for the car, but it feels nice knowing there's not much left to get and I'm almost across that finish line; I have almost everything I'll ever want for my interpretation and expression on what it is I think an R34 should be. 'til later.
