Have been thinking about what you guys said the other day.

Current plan:

- Sell ZX for as close to $6k as I can get

- Buy daily for $3k

- Sell Supra for as close to $16k as I can get

- Buy MR2 in Victoria. Modify it until I'm happy. No matter how long it takes or how much it costs

Does that sound like the way to go?

Might have to drop the price on the ZX again... It won't even sell for $6k. The market is f*cked now. I just want it gone though.

That style of rim has been and gone funky. Had the advan model 5's which look similar to that in 2003 lol

yes kris, thank you mr finger on the pulse. that's why these rims have been sold out across most of japan for the last month after being released in january this year.

shit's selling hotter than crack cocaine.

sounds like the best revision of your plan so far. sensible at least, you've got a car you're passionate about and a decent car to drive around in.

word of advice, spend more on a newer daily that's prone to less faults/breakdowns. esp if you plan to build your MR2 slowly.

I'm sorry but why an mr2?

Just personal taste really. I love the unique shape and the fact that they're semi-convertible (targa top).

Mid-engine RWD in a fairly light car is also a great combination. The handling is very good.

Other cars just don't it for me :( Just like some people here prefer 32s over 33s or 34s. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

What would you suggest as a daily? I don't care how girly and embarrassing it is. I'd prefer a smaller car and good fuel economy is a must.

Mitsubishi Mirage? :)

Lol didn't say they looked bad

proton satria GTI, vw golf MK3, civic, micra, starlet... anything really that's small and sub 1.8L. the newer the better.

just sayin they're not as out of style as you may think. Also Advan 5's don't look like that nor do they come in that sorta fitment.

Cheers man :) That's a good list. I'll have a look on carsales now.

Do you know any dealers that would let me trade in my ZX? Would be so much easier than trying to sell to all these boyracers with no money.

offset :(

:)

Lol should I post a pic of my car standard with the rims? It don't look too bad! The kit makes it look more fail offset haha.

Also where I live now I can't lower it anymore too  I scrape to f**k going in the driveway and already getting cracks through the front bar lol

car is going in for another tune soon jezza. Getting a de cat put in and more boost. Need to also get it tuned a bit richer as it leans out quite a bit on very cold nights

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
