got my weather sheilds off the otherday - after sitting on the car for 14 years they have pulled the plastic away from the body..

anyone know what my best route on fixing this would be?

picture here

the gluey stuff is taking forever to get off.. :P

shan i will hit you up when i need tyres, it seems because my car had been sitting for probably about a year + not doing anything in japan there is some small cracks in the tyres.. traction tyres suggested to get it replaced ASAP but kinda thinking they just want me to spend more money there.. as they are really only small cracks I might take some pics.

Anyways cheers all for the info

EDIT:

BC COILOVERS FTMFW, sooo much less bumpy then my brutal teins were, they feel sooo much better for a daily driver and no knock ftw.

what type of teins were they?

Terps and a razor blade but be careful with it ;) and a rag to help along the way and just be patient with it

ok, ive heard those ones are very stiff.

Yeah i'll probably sell them like uber cheap for someone that wants to chuck them in a track car or something, they do knock a bit so prob just sell to someone for like 100 or 200 bucks, worked fine on a few hill runs on my car.

do you remember this song

D:\Mp3\Albums\a to k\Billboard Top 100 Hits - 1992.(www.lokotorrents.com)\076 - Mc Hammer - Addams Gro.mp3

quality

They do what they wanna do, say what they wanna say

Live how they wanna live, play how they wanna play

Dance how they wanna dance, kick and they slap a friend

[The Addams Family]

was more the color I was objecting to :) lol they do a good knockoff

yeah they do a different green to, more of a taraka green that looks heaps better

hahah keen eye for the Rotas Nick!

haha loves it

Would black rota grids be a bad choice? heard some mixed stories about them breaking and shit.. I like them but would feel cheap or something i duno.. lol like buying fake Oakleys or something :D

mine will be here soon, flat black in 17s

the grids are fine man, there are 700+hp track cars using them in the US and they still dont break

too many people have hate towards them becuase of how many different jap wheels they copy

they are made well now

haha yeh I sold my GT-Cs want to go for a different look :D

I will spend on go fast mods! waiting for Trent to get back haha got some cash for a few goodies.. although the sucker already sucks petrol like a dirty whore compared to my old non turbo. (driving 60+ KM a day for work as a daily hurts my wallet when filling it up :D)

Paint my Challenge F-Zeros black or buy some rota grids in black?

Edit: Nick I recon flat black is hawt :) how much they set you back?

Haha no hurry, I hope he enjoys himself overseas its great there :D

Gives me a chance to get my KMs up a bit more over 79,000 and do a timing belt service and all the shit at the same time.

Also i need to find someone that can paint flat black.. places i have looked at only do like a gloss black, and seemed a little pricey quoted me $700 and more to keep my "volk racing" chrome.

    • So, this shouldn't be such a mission, but there were a few tricks so I thought I'd post up a DIY for it. This was on a Q50 Red Sport but I doubt any other V37 model is very different (maybe just less steps for the intake heat exchanger hoses) I pulled the radiator out to flush it because the car was running hot at the track, but obviously the same steps apply for changing a radiator for any reason including an upgrade. If you are removing the radiator, you of course need to drain and refill, so have 5+ litres of blue coolant ready. You don't need to drain the intake heat exchanger to remove the radiator but depending on your plans you may need a couple of litres for that as well. You will also need something to deal with the auto transmission lines, I used 2x 8mm rubber caps on the radiator side, and a short length of 8mm pipe on the car side.....unless you can block these lines quickly you will loose AT fluid and it may be enough to hurt the transmission if you don't refill it. Other than that....lets go... "First, jack up your car". Yes really, and put it safely on stands. If you are not confident doing that you need to give this job to a mechanic
    • If the forester is anything like our old 2007 GTB Liberty, I could near on run ling Long's and "rate them", as no matter what, it just hung to the road, even when abusing it in a hard launch in the wet, or throwing it at corners.
    • LOL, all of the CAI like Craig I just need to put a hole saw through my bumper Done and dusted, the car runs, which is nice, I'll take it for a spin when the weather clears up Just need to put the bumper back on for good

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
