Got sick of my dated headlights so I just ordered these :P

shoulda got these ones...

I'm surprised at how many cars share the same sized unit! Like even old RX7s etc. It's good :woot:

Why's it surprise you? It's a standard ISO size that most manufacturers used for pop up headlights. RX7, MR2, Z31, 180SX, MX5, S12, Prelude(or is it integra?) all use the same.

Now I just gotta decide what globes to run. Might take the HID route (like 4300 or 6000k) or just a whiter standard globe (philips crystal vision or something).

don't put HID's into non projectors you gimp. You'll blind every kent on the road with your badly focussed beams.

shoulda got these ones...

I don't like the look of those ones. Have seen them on another car and not a fan of the round bit in the middle.

Yeah, I don't like HIDs.. but I want a clear white light. What are my other options?

get halogen bulbs colour temp rated about 6000K. 5200K is natural sunlight, 6000K is crisp white.

Yeah, 6000k would be perfect. I had 8000ks in my old MR2 and it was a bit too blue. Suited a black car but won't look good on red.

Where do I get them? Autobarn sell Crystal Vision but I don't think they're even close to 6000k...

I'm a big fan of sleepy eye conversions on pop ups, with any of these headlamps instead of standard ones:

I was going to go for REV6 headlights while the US dollar was strong but they're out of stock and I didn't want to wait another month.

Oh well, the raybrigs look pretty good anyway. They're 1/4 the price too. Just gotta source the globes.

i was about to post about one of these because i was offered one but still thinking about it, they are not as quick as a gtr but very comfortable and still pretty damn quick. id take one if it had a supercharger :P . still thinking about it atm.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
