Superspark Coils = Rubbish

Recommended Posts

I have tried two types of coil packs, firstly superspark, now with these, i will just go ahead and say they are rubbish, because i bought a set and they failed after a couple of months, then i took it for warranty and they sent a few spare ones, they worked for a while and started missfiring again. i would just stay clear of these ones!, Now the second brand was splitfire, i have had no problem what so ever with these ones, so it prooves the superspark ones are shit quality, you can even see with the mould quality with the two brands. Just pay the extra $200 or whatever and get splitfires, it will save you money and hassle in the long run.....

The yellow jackets from perfornance wise are also good coils, lots of ppl on GTRC using them.I also have yellow jackets and have no complaints.

well then i guess thats another good brand, i was thinking of getting them, but wasnt sure and didnt want to risk it again....

ive got them and holding up with 300 rwkw's worth of drift car...so far so good.

I must have gotten a bad batch or something, thats still pretty bad because i paid $499 at autobarn... they arent really that cheap either, for the extra $150 or so i would rather the splitfires....

all the china coils are from the same factory with different colours and branding but the same coils

in 7 years of selling splitfires ive had 1 s15 coil fail after 1.5 years of use on a heavily modified engine

we sell at least 50 sets per year

my favourite china coil story to recount is the car that came in with a bad misfire and the china coil had melted into a pool in the spark plug valley

classic!

i agree with the supersparks. the dealer purchased these and put them in my car before i bought it and they failed in a few months so i bought splitfires and have had no problems since.

yer exactly the same problem with me, only worked for a few months and then failed...the splitfires even feel more smoother than the supersparks

That is not true. Yellow Jackets Coil Packs are not made in the same factory as the other red ones.

Please get your facts straight before stating so publically. Thanks.

I used to sell Splitfires for around 3 years (approx 80 sets/year) and have had at least 3 sets returned due to faults in that period.

I now sell around 370 sets/year of Yellow Jackets and have had only 5 coils (not sets) fail in that period and we threw them straight under the microscope for testing and the "wrinkles" were identified and ironed out immediately.
