Figured since there wasn't a thread yet, I'd post one. Put all you pics, comments, stories etc. in here.

I just walked in the door and about to eat food so will post my pics up after that and some editing.

It was a great turnout with 37, 38 or 39 cars (depends who you asked lol) and everyone behaved pretty good...

I had a great day for my first GOR and first SAU Club event, Cheers Al for organising us.

The drive home through the Otways was Awesome!! must do again!

Pics to come, I got a lot of them

This is a superb event that SAU has put on for a number of years and have been on the trip overnight once along with a few day trips. Would have loved to come this weekend but car was not up to it. Look forward to some pics to console myself with.

So day for me started at the West meet, I think there were 7 cars that showed from memory, we then cruised to the main meet and joined up with the others. Then we all left en masse. FFWD to the GOR cos the other bist are pretty boring really :(

Heaps of traffic and lot of slow drivers that didn't want to pull over but usually eventually did. Best part was the first traffic light, it went orange when I was about to go through and I thought about running it then slammed the brakes.... More time for the group up ahead to create a GIANT gap so we could at least have a bit of fun hehehee!! We got a great run through the twisties, I think there was 8 or 9 of us in the group and we only got 3 cars in front of us, one nice enough to pull over after a few nice hand gestures, a flick of the lights and a toot toot on the horn, I gave him a thankyou wave when we went past, next car pulled over then I got a Audi wagon and he actually had a bit of a play with us before he got a slap from the passenger and he pulled over HA!!

We ended up making such good time we caught up with the other group. YAY FOR US!!! rest of the GOR pretty much consisted of a few little squirts and lots more slow drivers gawking at the magnificent views I mean what do they think it is... some sort of Tourist Road! SHEESH!!!

Met up with the main group in Apollo Bay for some lunch then went for the mass photo shoot, we actually had so many cars that none of us had a wide enough lens on the camera to fit them all in! after that we went our seperate ways, guys staying the night went back to the accomodation and the rest of us pissed off home through the Otways.

We had a small group go home through the Otways, was a bit of a dogs breakfast at first with the main group leaving before the leader did and then the second group missing the turn off. Nathan (green R31) sorry mate, I thought you would have turned around but you kept going up the GOR, ah well, hoope you got home OK.

Myself and Mick (Stag) were left by ourselves pretty much and after unmarked cop drove past us pointing we decided to hook it up teh Otway Ranges road. Mick, for a RS Four Stag your car hammers!! AND IT'S AN AUTO!!!! Prob helps you ar a mad man lol!!

We drove about 2-3kms up the road and got to the main pack all pulled over with a R33 GTR pulled up on the wrong side of the road near the armco, I thought he had an off but it was engine troubles. Hope you got it sorted mate, all your pipes etc looked fine so hope it's nothing major.

We continued on but got broken up into 2 groups, the main group got in front of the white daewoo and old man driving a new MX-5 (will be you in the future Hamish) I got stuck behind, with R34 GTR and the 33 with L plates up. It was HELL!!! the Daepoo was going 35km/h tops about 10 mins down the road they pulled over and I got a big surprise.... Ol Man driving the MX-5 with his white comb over flying straing up in the air and his girl next to him with the hat on FLOORED IT!! He was hammering we both got round and and stuck to him like glue but on some corners I was braking going into them and he was almost tail out driving straight through them! Gotta say, the dude could drive! we played cat and mouse (I was the cat) for about 4km i guess, before he pulled over and waved me past. We had already lost the 34 and the L plater got stuck behind the Daepoo I think (bummer)

I took this oportunity to explore the way my car drives at full tilt (as full as I wanted to go on a road I had never driven) bonus for me was thanks to the genius who invented Sat Nav, I could see the road and corners coming up and how tight it was long before I needed to slow down or speed up for them, it's like having your own WRC Navigator... WIN!! That Otway Ranges road is one of the better roads I have driven and I highly recommend it!

I eventually caught up to the main group and we continued to cruise along on the way home, problem was our directions were somewhat scarse and we took a wrong turn, or two, or maybe it was 3 but we got there in the end. We lost the Supra that was with us (what happened dude, couldn't keep up with the Lines :( ) so we were 1 x Stag, 1 x 32 GTR, 1 x 33 GTST, 2 x 33 GTR and 1 x 34 GTR (TPGE4R). We made good time and covered off the KM's pretty good, got to the Geelong Ring Rd and were just cruising then out in the distance there is a 4x4 backing up in the emergency lane and something on the road in the right hand lane, It was a fricken Ladded!! must have come off the 4x4, 33 GTST (sorry dude, can't remember your name :) ) was in the right lane and dude I dunno if you saw it before I waved like a douche pointing at the road or after but it was bloody lucky you and none of the others cleaned it up or it would have been bye bye car!

I turned off the ring road for Bacchus Marsh with a 33GTR and the rest kept going. Dude in the 33GTR, do you live in Melton? you took the first turnoff and I kept going straight, you went the slow way if you do, I live in Melton too. I suppose if you knew that you prob would have followed lol.

Anyway, that about wraps up my day. Great times guys. Can't wait for another!

Oh and I still haven't edited any pics yet so you'll just have to wait!

Double Oh, sorry for the novel ;)

Sounds like fun, I went through the otways road recently for a cruise with a few mates. There is a turn off about 5-10kms up which leads through some crazzzzzy roads. Well worth the drive there. Hopefully i'll attend the next one, only 1 years to go haha

about to watch a movie and have a few drinks after eating a steak :)

but awesome turn out! Really happy with the way my car handled and kept up.

The drive to warrnambool after was really good until i drove through a section that was infested with dragon flies! Picked about 8out of my grill. Also got smacked in the head by a stone that car off another car as i was going around a corner with my window down. So all good untill the stage one finished. :( top effort everyone.

Thanks to SAU VIC for putting on a well organised cruise and getting the pre meets done even if we didn't go by the google directions Had a great day giving the STAG a run around some nice roads with a good amount of boost where possible didn't know it like it that much not bad for a hearse.Did a full tank and got 450 k's with a little to spare its thirsty like its owner..

Good to see there was a good turn out with vic members and nice cars and a good bunch of people even if i was the only stagea driver(i know some of you want one)

Hope everyone makes or made it home without any more problems and someone knows how to fix the R33 gtr that didn't want to play the game anymore.

Only complaint i wish i could have done stage 2 and there was more than i G.O.R cruise for the year

Looking forward to see a few pics

Yeap i do live in Melton , its the way I normally take. (I thought it was the short way !)

But i could be wrong.

Any way I made the cruise (and I'm Happy about it) since car isn't running 100% right.

OK so finally finished editing all the pics and scrubbing out all the number plates (if you notice one I missed let me know and I'll fix it), also if there are any pics you want a copy of ask and I will email it to you.

Enjoy!!

Hahaha good report there BeEnAr...it was a terrific drive back, I can't believe those sections of road are posted at 100km/h...if I stuck to that I wouldn't be here!!! I'm impressed with how well the GTS-T kept up with the GTRs...there were a couple of scary moments where my stiff suspension decided to skip over the bumpy sections lol. And Mick you sure have some guts thowing that Volvo around the corners...she handles better than I thought :)

My god that ladder scared the shit out of me...I think I did see it out the corner of my eye and moved over slightly to avoid it like it was rubbish on the road, but until I saw you pointing I didn't realise it was a friggen ladder and swerved hard...if that makes sense. That would have been goodbye intercooler! I owe you one man...

Thanks all for coming, was a great turnout and awesome day (near 500km worth of driving in one day for the stage 1 people - we go harder cause we don't need a night of sleep before the return trip!!!). Lots of friendly people, this cruise is worth membership alone IMO.

wow, some great pics there.

great day. thanks wayno and team for organising.

traffic coming over the westgate in the morning was crap, down to 2 lanes!

then of course the traffic was crap coming back over the gate as well...

anyway, pics.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
