I have a 4" HKS on mine, 330rwkw no restriction should make a heap more soon to.

as a rough guide

3.5"~350kw

4"~400kw+

Sort of real rough guide do a search bro i think R31Nismoid has gone over it in a few threads.

Mitch.

Yep, that's pretty much what R31Nismoid will say.

455rwkw, 75/80mm exhaust.

It's got nothing left to give, replacement being made right now.

Sounds decent though, but that's mainly the cams

Link Doesnt work ?

Works now , sounds tough !

Be interesting to see what happens when you change it without even a retune :P

not too many too list. the car is completely standard.

i dont want too many mods. in the future i might go to N1 tubos with all the supporting mods, but at the moment i just want exhaust.

Stock? And here we are thinking it's got a whole catalogue thrown at it.

Leave the stock dumps until you change turbos.

For now, get some good quality front pipes (I have hks, they're good), a high flowing cat (or none, up to you), and a kakimoto catback. It will sound SO good and be enough flow for now, or for later when you change to steel wheel turbos.

You may have people saying to get a 3.5" catback but I don't see why, when the front pipes merge to a 3" merge and your car is stock.

Steve. Did you ever get a unigroup tune before the 3 litre? we have *almost* the same setup apart from the the extra 260 cc. it would be interesting to see the results.

Yeah actually, he spent 45 mins with the microtech the night before driving it to Victoria due to a faulty ecu another forum member sold me.

Yavuz wasn't happy with the tune but he said it's enough power for a weekend of fun but super safe so nothing will happen. On 98, 371rwkw 18psi. No mechanical changes the next tune was 403rwkw, maxed injectors changed to ID2000's and then tuned as is. Wait until my new exhaust is done, I'll be straight back to Yavuz for another tune with more boost etc

Edit; sorry, that was 3L. No one in Sydney ever tuned it while it was 2.6L, I misread your question, sorry. Also it's an 87mm bore, so a tad more than 260cc, but who cares it's splitting hair. Sorted out your pipes?

haha, yes same, i was expecting a longer list of mods

Pretty much as you said Steve.

Although i would just get 3.5" from the outset personally. Once day you might decide to get slightly bigger turbos etc and a tad larger exhaust could offer benefits.

Certainly no need for a 4" unless you are planning on a 400rwkw+ sorta build.

Also some merge's actually go to 3.5", i know the trust ones do... so certainly not all front pipes end up 3" @ the merge.

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
