Hey all! In a bit of a pickle. Chasing two 225-45-17 ku36's. Was meant to pick some up from Advance in richmond but none in stock and only one in the warehouse.... if anyone knows where in Melb or ne vic I can get some please pm me. Otherwise I may have a very odd wheel tyre combo for Deca!

Cheers, Glen.

Thanks guys!

I'll get on it first thing Monday morning. Looks like another trip to melb maybe on the cards haha!

I think Option 1 will deliver for you. Might be able to get em in a few days to save yourself the trip.

to rain or not to rain, the weather forecast for next weekend says rain

so all you guy's with semi's have a back up plan ? i don't think slicks would be very good in the wet

yay i found the event schedule, why didn't i look there first

semi's... what semis?

RB20's don't have that do they? :)

Hey Leon.

I went moto riding with Andy on the weekend. He told me you bought his car. Are you bringing that to DECA? See if it can handle more than 1 run?

yeah man... bought his car... well see how it goes next time as it still has some issues with the clutch!

Taking the red 180 this time and might put some 'for sale' stickers on it to see if i can move it along to someone else!

semi's... what semis?

pipe down you with your ladida streets :)

Jesse and Chris are out, Antony and Tom G are in.

Less than a week to go! A wet deca could be interesting... if it does rain all 4WDs are banned ;)

im only using what crappy tyres i have, and unfortunetly i have 2 sets of old hard rubber which i feel the need to abuse and wear down.....slowly... :)

omg yeh i had a look at the skidpan layouts, and i like the inclusion of the roundabout in the mini wang !

looking forward to next weekend.

What would be worse? Random average street tyres, or KU36s in the wet, or would I be fine in either if careful?

If it's wet I'll just use this as a big learning experience!

No worries Tom, see you at the next one. Sam you are now in.

Kieran, you need to be careful no matter what tyres you run. and they need to have decent tread depth.

Keep in mind people cold brakes and tyres in the wet on track are very dicey and easy to lock up. its even more important to try and brake in a straight line to keep your weight evenly distributed. (on the back tracks). The skid pan is just rediculous when its wet. I say this as we would like to avoid cars going off as much as possible, obviously :)

The Kumhos have more tread, but both are roadworthy. I guess I'll stick with the kumhos as they're my daily tyres and this will be the best way to learn how my car will react on the street in the wet if I get into a slippery situation.

Like I said, I'm just going to go nice and easy and take this as a big learning experience rather than a race. :)

holly f**k forgot this was this saturday. soo much to do. well not that much. needs to do a full service and mount fire extinguisher.

also if it rains ill just stock to the skid pan and will just cruise around the wangs lol

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
