Hey guys.

As far as im aware, the R33 GTS-T box is essentially the same as the GTR box. Now an R32 GTS-4 gearbox will shit itself with the planned power output, and R33 GTS-T boxes seem to be relativley cheap.

Am I able to mate up an R33 GTS-T gearbox with an R32 GTS4 transfer case, to give me a poverty pack GTR box that will handle approx 320rwkw?

Eventually (long time from now) I hope to be making enough power to destroy GTR boxes as well. Are there any other options other than a replacement gearset for under 10,000 ?

Thanks.

Don't think so, but have been known to be wrong before.

Check out latest edition of HPI (GT-R Special #4), and issue #36 - there's stuff in there about a dog-box from Adealide, rated for '800ps +'; will set you back around 9 big ones.

you cannot bolt a gtr transfere case to a gtst gearbox having seen both boxes apart on a bench the cases look similar but there is alot of other differences.. the gear stacks are not interchangable ad the gears i believe are even a slightly different ratio anyway... the gtr box with transfere cas is also alot longer and is not a spline and yoke set up!!! you cant say one gearbox will handle x another will handle y it goes on other factors..yes people have had certain gearboxes do cetain outputs but you might try and the whole thing goes up!!!! also a standard gearbox in average condition starts to struggle at the levels you mentioned id be scared with a bitsa doin it.... yes there are exceptions some standard boxes handle 400kw+ at the wheels but talk to the owners they know they are on borrowed time and baby the thing...this is for r32's especially!!!
