Hey guys i'm thinking about parting with my R33 GTST 1994 Manual MSPEC-2 DOOR. Currently not really sure what they are going for but here is a detail discription of the car and hit me up what you with i can sell it for- keeping in mind i don't want a 3month sale but something quicker (no hurry though!)- not going to give it away either

Discription:

Very clean body

Second owner in Aus- been here for 7yrs, I have had it for 3.5yrs (selling with RWC & reg for another 8 months or so)

190km on the clock- full service history since I’ve had it and previous owner too

No mechanical issues- new coil packs and changed some bushes here and there

Sitting on newish shock and springs- slightly lower but legal and doesn’t scrap everywhere

17inch light weight ssr rims (white)- (80% meat all round around -300 a corner)

3inch (or 3.5) KatiMoto exhaust with high flow cat

Sound system approx 3k (very clean installation, no wires visible to the naked eye), top quality stuff just the capacitor was like 600 buxs. Doesn't shake anything, just really crystal clear voicals- also have 2 subs in the car easy to detach. Haven't been in the car for over now lol

Usual pod filter but engine is pretty stock otherwise, no demodifications either

Always serviced with motul oils etc

Generally very good car never had any issues but looking and purchasing a development block so I’m interested in selling up. Once I complete this piece of work I will be looking at reverting to a r34 GTR hopefully as I just loved the beast so much!

I see skylines can go from 7.5-12k so i'm not sure what i can get for it?

with that many k's on it, no one will want it

im in the same boat, my R33 has 228,000 on the clock, no one will want it

if you can sell it 8k max

have a look at what vl turbos are worth

and i reckon compare vs that

i mean if a 87 vl turbo is worth 3k still

then a 93 gtst should be worth a fair bit more

yer i was thinking something along the lines of 9k- i will see how i go.

its pretty funny how some ppl think that they got 100km on the engine lol with their car been is aus land for like 6 yrs, obviously never done math, i'd rather sell it with gen km than wind them back.

223km to doesn't mean much- because the km are gen and if u look after your car, unlike some youngster it will be mint for another 100km at least. Plus the gear box would be smooth as butter.

When i was looking for my car i found that some with 80km had leaking engines and gear boxes like corn flakes lol

theres too damn many of them around...there as common as commodores and most are crappy and borirng...yeah id reckon 8k tops..sux i know when you probably paid double that 3-4 years ago..I know i did..bought off a mate thinking it was something special only to find its a dud old car with shit that keeps breaking and a mate that just says..it was fine when i sold it and it must be my fault...Bullshit...Its just another shitty old car now..I would seriously rather keep it and drive it than lose 5-10k on it...its still a great car to drive even if it isnt cool anymore :P

although i do find a few people are up for swaps....always another option, but every time im about to swap it i back out for some reason or another...maybe its fate and destiny toying with me..

Oh and lot of them are legit low kms..there toys so arent always driven daily...Ive done 6000 in 3 years, it sat in a shed for 3 years before that...factor in another year maybe for time spent in docks/auction yards/etc..thats 7 years on a 14 year old car...it has 130km on the clock which equates to roughly 15,000kms a year when it was on the road..sounds about right...

yer i reckon maybe you are right- my 2 cents about the km lol I reckon they are the most reliable cars out there, only thing that i had to change were the coil packs and that wasn't even that bad but i really make sure everything is running properly.

Do u mind me asking wat sort of swap you were looking aka wat can you get?

I'm thinking about taking the system out and put it on stockies...... easier to sell and probably end up a grand up or so

..haha.. i have a soft spot for old cars...every now and then ill see some classic and pull them up or email them if there interested in swaps..Get some interest but I always back out...But you never know what people will swap, just find something you like and ask them...

but your right they are reliable, only problem ive had was manifold studs and turbo bolts coming loose. i think it had a coilpack replaced but that was about 8 years ago ..it coughs and farts here and there, but always keeps running..If only the electrics were as reliable as the driveline..

its not a matter of what to expect, its what can you afford to let it go for and how long can you wait?

if you want it for 12k then be prepared to wait 12 months at least

if you want quick sale then put it up for 9k and anyone that calls will work you down to 8k so take it at 8

its a game of how long and how bad do you want to sell

Yer thats a valid point for sure! Honestly i'm prepared to be patient BUT i really don't like looking at adds that are over priced by 5k. Cars go down in value i want to sell it at a price i'm happy and the buyer is getting a good deal! Win Win situation for both- I'm not gonna give it away either.

if you got time part it out probaly make more money almost a quarter of ya cars value will be the wheels and a couple panels. only problem is it takes time and effort i'd say you looking 8k MAX.. not trying to be harsh but the re sale market is farked

Yer mate you are not been harsh at all, i'd rather honest feedback rather than be a dreamer.

Plus that is wat i'm also thinking- give/take 1k.

Worst case is putting stockies on and take the system out etc...... then i can easily let it go under 8k

Not really interested in parting it out i think at this stage i think, wouldn't mind passing it on the right hands and will look after it the way i did

Although i may keep it as there is nothing wrong with the car and i seriously enjoy it!

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
