yeah i hop you have a big bank balance. it isn't just the engine that needs to be built, but so does the gearbox, diff, axles, roll cage, etc. then you will need a good set of slicks. at a guess i'd san an easy $50,000 to get something that reliably runs in the 10's if you are paying someone to do it. if you do ALL the work yourself then that will make it cheaper.

that said, i know of a sr20 powered datsun stanza that's run a 10.5 and probably cost about 25k to do.

also the fella that asked the question is from SWEDEN too, so not sure what the supply of parts is like over there.

There is a great thread here on a guy called Daves RB25DET engine making monster power, not sure what time he ran the 1/4 in. I have seen and heard his car in action at Oran Park, its a top car thats for sure.

here is the link,

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ny...ld-t210351.html

i remember a black r33 when i used to hang out at CREATD,

Std internal and cammed RB25 with Trust Td06sh-25g (10cm) turbo kit, power fc, z32, 850cc injectors bosch 040, twin plate, std 5pd manual, std suspension, std front wheels and ford stock rears with MT's ran 10.6 consistently.

It's not that expensive to do if you just want to run one 10 second quarter and then not race anymore. Avoids cages and the like.

You should be able to tune an RB25 to a reliable 350rwkW to allow you to do it as well.

Diff and axles should be fine with the load, as should the gearbox. A twin plate should also cut it.

Just strip all the weight out of the car to get it lighter :P

Hello

Thanks for the answers. So you guys think that 350rwkW should do the job then ? Sounds that a holset hx35 would be a good turbo for it ?

turbo +all the supporting mods or you will be building a hand grenade on wheels .....see lots of those around here

I would really look at going for an HX40 if you want 10s, HX35 could be possible - but probably pushing it. Borg Warner S300SX 83-75 would be another good option if you want truck turbo style...

Of course much more needs to be replaced. But I just checked if the turbo would to the job.

    • Swapped the injectors around and the misfire followed. I went ahead and ordered the Deatschwerks 550cc injectors and am currently waiting for them to be ship and arrive. In the meantime, I've had my Nistune soldered to the ECU. Tested it, and and tried it out with the software. Everything should be prepared for when the injectors arrive.
    • Yeah they charge a little extra for mods , last year I noted no mods but I did have an exhaust fitted after that so  better to let them know cause these kinds of things can cause the policy to be void if you ever need to claim.
    • Hello, just just bought an 1999 enr34 with a stock rb25neo and I'm looking to upgrade the engine to 500whp I know some basic things but wondering if there are things I'll need to do to upgrade the stock block and all the bits and pieces to achieve this.
    • Thanks everyone for the replies and suggestions. Got the seats out (hoping I could find some existing grommets but no such luck). By tapping and measuring etc. I could figure out where I could drill through if needed. But first I borrowed an inspection camera and managed to go through factory holes in the chassis rail and could see that the captive nut was holding steady which is why it could retighten. So it was indeed a stripped section of thread, so I applied downforce by levering the bolt head with a screwdriver and went slowly back and forth until it came out. Camera helped a lot cos I could monitor that the captive nut was holding tight. Now I just have one very seized main subframe nut to tackle 😅
    • BOVs do have a purpose, if you ever log pressure before and after the throttle body, you will see a spike pre throttle on lift off from a WOT condition. Enough to bend throttle blades / damage e-throttle motors or simple assist in blowing off cooler pipes. FWIW, the above on really applies to those running at least 2 bar of boost. OP shouldn't have an issue, on the other hand, here are some videos of my shit box over a decade ago with some succulent dose with the airbox on and off. That shit box is unrecognisable these days 🫠
