My understanding is that the atessa sends 5% drive to the front wheels as a minimum at at all times.

Regarding fluids when my car was auto I bought 20L of quality synthetic atf and used it in the auto, the atessa and the power steering.

Well just as abit of of an update with my car, took it to a GTR doctor xD, got all the fluids in the car changed, $600+ of fluids! Both diffs, transfer case, gearbox, ATTESA actuator.. everything done except a coolant flush which is getting done next time i'm there.

My mechanic belives that it is most likely a G sensor. However upon driving he believes that there is something abit wrong with the speedo.. When accelerating it stays on 0kph then quickly rises to say 40kph, the delay is minimal however he belives that this could also cause my issue. As the ATTESA takes inputs from the G sensors, speedo etc right? So if there is a delay, the ATTESSA might be tricked into believeing there is wheelspin.

Any chance of this being the cause? I plan to get it looked at again in the near future!

Looking at the R32 RB26DETT System Figure, the ECCS unit gets its' vehicle speed signal from the speedo which gets it from the gearbox.

I can't find a diagram for the R32 ABS/ETS unit but I would imagine that the system is only looking at differential readings from the ABS sensors.. will have a look when I get home.

Yeah it looks like the ECU gets the vehicle speed from the speedo (for speed limiter etc) but it also looks like the ECU only supplies the ETS (attessa) with throttle signal and engine RPM, I guess the ABS sensors would be providing the speed for the ETS computer. If you end up needing another speedo with speed sensor let me know, i've a spare.

Roger that doo doo!

Is it possible to repair the speedo without changing the cluster.. as i believe my car has genuine k's and would like to keep the "standard" ODO on there if possible.

If it is something as simple as this to fix my problem that would be a massive relief!

I had pulsing issue where if the car was cruising around 100km, I could feel the car surging forward slightly every 5 secs or so constantly

at the time if didnt put 2 n 2 together as I was only fixing the flicking needle but it also sorted out the surge as well

Hm my issue occurs at 100kph as well, not sure if mine "surges" .. the torque just goes foward after a certain amount of time.

I will have to get this fixed asap and see if it solves my problem:D

The 'speed warning' unit which looks like a fuse is interchangeable between speedos so you can keep your original cluster. Still don't know if it supplies speed info for ECU or if it's just a limiter warning or power steering/hicas input. If it's jiggered it might be doing something funny to your attessa at 100kph, but check the speedo cable first. After the G sensor of course

are you 100% sure the tyres are all the same???

do a liltle test, put the tyres on the front on the back and back on the front, than go for a drive and see if it is the same.... if it dose than its a prob with the 4wd system, theres a test you can also do its in the workshop manaul mite be worth alook

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
