AFM.

Nm35 Died Mid Flight, anyone had this? - its tricky

We don't get offended since we have been making more power for so long that we are genuinely happy every time you guys crack a little more power than stock...... :P

AFM = Air Flow Meter

MAF = Mass Air Flow

AFM = MAF

..ahem..a little more power? i think scotty and jetwreck have both achieved a bit more than a little :)

I'm surprised no-one has bitten on this comment, as I run into all the time I'll end my rant now :/

Everyone was a bit slow to bite there Bis.

Since generalisations were being thrown around I thought.....what the hey. :/

really!....thanks for that!

Sorry Jet that was being directed at whitestag's query. (I'm pretty sure you are saying derr)

lol.....I did write a couple of responses.....but there is no real come back.

Your right....heaps of parts straight off the shelf to build a decent tractor motor....sorry RB.....hey after 20-30 years of the motor being on the market getting 270 AWKW's reliably out of one of them without cracking the motor open and with the same turbo housings should be easy aye!

lol.....how did we get here from AFM :/

Yeah, but isn't that almost what Scotty is doing anyway?

Funny thing but AWKW and RWKW readings are almost always identical unless there is wheel spin. Sure people add 10kw or so to their figures but I take that with a grain of salt...in fact all dyno numbers as well.

The R33 is in RWKW cos it only has one diff and doesn't struggle for traction (in a straight line at least). Obviously the stagea was missing its front driveshaft for the dyno runs. It grips up fine with it back in.

all good, went over to northshore,, they checked it and replaced the MAF and all good,,, ready for some spirited driving again...

Thanks for all your help everyone.

now onto that dump pipe..

some of the C34 guys get a little confused.....I give you a heads up as they don't quite get it :( ......our car is 98% different to the C34! So when you hear the line "Well on my C34......" more than likely they are completely wrong with the assessment!

Sorry in advance if I have offended any C34 owners :P

98% different hey?

I was going to say: "Well on my SR20......" I was right anyway, despite the fact that I own a 4 cylinder. BAHAHhahahaha.

AND it still ended up being the AFM!

:D what error code comes up and how do you get it with your SR20!

here's one for you.....the C34 has a shit load more in common with a R33, R34 yes?....or would you say the C34 has a lot more in common with a 350Z!

and congrats on the diagnosis........your a rocket scientist aye! :)

I've got the factory MIL light on the SR20 fitted to the 1600. Never use it though.

I just plug in the nistune software and it tells me the fault codes. Pretty easy and highly recommended.

C34 has a motor in the front and so does the M35. Both are made by Nissan. Both have an AFM and by the sounds of it, have a limp home mode. That's enough commonality for me :bunny:

Rocket Scientist? Nah, just willing to help a nissan brother out...
