Hi everyone

I have a set of 17inch Volk TE37 rims,,

BUT,, they are Damaged,

I haven't found out if they can be repaired or not,

i know one of them is heavily damaged,

but the other three look like they can be easily fixed.

I'm just posting this thread to see if anyone would even be interested in buying damaged (possibly repairable) rims,,

they used to me on my r33 skyline,,,

the r33 is long gone and the rims r sitting here doing nothing.

I am in brisbane,,

i will take some pics soon and post them up to give u an idea off what sort of repairs may be required.

anyways,, if anyone may be interested , just let me know

email me on [email protected]

i havent set a price or anything

just seeing if anyone is interested first, then i may take it further,,

thanks

Hi Guys

Here are the pics of all the rims,,

sorry if the pic quality isnt too great

Details of Rims

Front :

17" x 7.5 (+30 offset)

Rear:

17" x 8.5 (+30 offset)

This pic is of the front rim, is slightly bent on the outside edge

The Rear Rims dont seem to have too much damage,

sratches on the outer edges

Let me know what you think,

I don't know if they can be bronze anodized anywhere,

might be a better option to get it powdercoated white or gunmetal grey,, which is a much cheaper option,,,

anyways,,

let me know if anyone is interested in having a closer look at these rims,,

best time for me is on the weekends,,,

i'm in brisbane

thanks guys

p.s i havent sent a price yet,, will decide that when someone comes to have a look at them.... please note,, these rims are worth over $1000 each when brand new,,,

Thanks for your time,,

Just though I would make a correction, Volk TE 37's are between 50,000-55,000 Yen brand new, for each rim (17 inch), which equates too around $650 AUD per TE-37.

Which wheel shop is that, post PM if you want...

Just looking at the really bad rim, I think it is BEYOND repair, but the back too look fine.

I really like the wheels but want a new set if you could let me know where I can get these rims!!!

I want to sell all 4 rims together,

how does $250 a rim sound to u guys?? is it reasonable??

let me know of your thoughts,,,

open to suggestions,,

thanks :P

Thats's great if you live in Japan

Add 15% import duty plus 10% GST plus about $150 freight per wheel and you are pretty close to $1000 each.

    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
    • You think its the AFM? I know its a common issues on R32s. I find it coincidental how this issue raised right after cleaning the fuel system. As everything except the fuel system was fine before. I tried running it with the IACV unplugged but did not notice a difference and still stalled. However, the RPM gauge is not in the cluster right now, so I will need to connect the laptop again and use Nistune to check the RPM. I will check this weekend.
