hey guys

just wondering if you could help me out a bit as i recieved a traffic fine on my way home to melbourne about a month and a half ago.

the cop was fairly nice about it all and when i got home and actually looked at the ticket he hasnt signed it and also put the wrong address on the ticket.

as far as i know this makes it void as its a legal document and needs to be completed properly.

am i correct in thinking this?

thanks for your help guys

I got booked 7 yrs ago in my R33 GT-R doing 63 in a 50 zone.

Policeman put down the rego no. of the 1-tonner in front of me, instead of my plate (GTR33Z) & did a typo on my Lic no. too.

I fought it in court, citing a technicality. The policeman was there also.

Judge said, "So whilst the details were wrong, were you a driver that was pulled over?"

"What exactly is your number plate?"

"Hmm... was the car you're driving one of these Nissan GT-Rs then?"

After telling the truth, the magistrate said, "You're fine will still stand..."

The copper told me outside court that if I'd fibbed a couple of times, I would have got away with it.

I don't regret telling the truth though. At least I can lie straight in bed.

http://www.strangepolice.com/content/item/16799.html <- amusing, but unfortunately, a ticket is a ticket. rego + speed, irrespective of whatever else is on there is proof enough.

I love that story, i posted it on my FB, so good!

My son here on SAU, just noticed a policeman taking pics of a car parked the wrong way on a thoroughfare.

I didn't know that you could be booked for that, until I looked up Rule #208(2)

Other ones to consider too are...

Rule #197 - Not to park on a nature strip

Rule #208 - Not to park within 3m of a median strip or double lines

State Gov't short of money?

Ahem...

Those fines have been around a long time. You can also be booked for running through puddles and wetting pedestrians.

And if the Gov't don't make money through people paying voluntary taxes, they'll make everyone pay them compulsorarily.(sp)

you probably could have got away with just not paying it and the RTA would have been on a wild goose chase to figure out who to give the points too etc..

Hey! That used to be my plate! GTR33Z was on my midnight purple beast (B&W premium plates).

And believe it or not; but whilst driving that R33 GT-R with those plates once and then being pulled over for doing 60 in a 50 zone, the policeman also did a typo and wrote the wrong rego plate on the ticket. LOL

Those plates are publicity-shy perhaps??? :/

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
