Sigh... Thats not really a useful comparison. You can clearly see the GT3076 setup has notable issues.

Is there any surge on it Simon? Looks like its building and then just tapers a tad early on the climb up.

Something my 600hp GT30 did, it wasn't really audible eithe which didnt help to workout

I found Simons power curve was alittle odd, I've seen few other members running it on RB20dets it seems to make more mid range but not as much top end. But none of them actually run that much boost either.

Also the comparison dynosheet shown against GT3076s, Those 2x cars got lot more modifications then what my test car has. I believe I have no issues beating them in response, power and torque if I decide to modify mine in the same manner. Except I don't expect any one who uses my turbos to have all those mods.

Stao, they are clearly not sorted setups regardless of the level of modification (compared to one that is, again regardless of mods).

To put such a 'comparison' up serves little purpose and would otherwise mislead people that might not be as aware (i think i've had to say that, what, 3 times now? :thumbsup: ).

Earlier! Around 3000-3300rpm-ish where it starts coming up and then sorta kicks another bit and goes up harder.

Could just be the way it is :P

if you have nothing to hide then post boost graphs for all 3, should reveal whats really going on....

Thats overlayed with my dyno plot by the looks of it, my coils completely failed not long afterwards and I have a set of Splitfires in there now - but thats probably more to do with the wavy line than the huge difference in torque once full boost is reached. My car was running a reasonably stable 16-17psi boost curve on the GT3076R, that other car is blatently running more boost.

I can't provide a boost plot for my dyno "curve" he used there, so he won't be able to - but as much as there were "issues" with mine they wouldn't be anywhere near enough to cause that torque difference once his reaches full boost. To me that overlay looks like a GT30R running a normal boost curve overlayed with a laggier turbo running more boost but for some reason (running out of flow?) boost drops in the high end so its making barely any more power than the GT30R.

A copy of the dyno plot and a boost curve on the same page for that setup to prove its staying under 17psi all the way would prove otherwise, but until then it doesn't look too good.

What a load of crap. My car is running a Chinese intercooler, a bone stock (high km) RB25, an internally gated GT3076R and all stock manifolds. The only thing I can see any hint of being better on my car is the turbo...

You are right, you'd beat mine in power/torque going by that plot but you are clearly running measureably more boost through it through the midrange - and I am very doubtful of keeping up in terms of response given it can't even spool as well against a dyno. If mine was running the boost it looks like you're pushing through that thing (and didn't have dying coils), the plot you provided quite possibly wouldn't be in the game.

I seriously dislike seeing dealers try to pull the wool over people's eyes to make their product look better than others by using compromised or not-really-comparable setups as legit comparisons.

PS, the other GT3076R dyno plot which is lower than my "red" line and the ATR43G3 turbo looks like it'd actually deal to both of us if it was run on a Dynapack - again, very misleading graph to show

FWIW my car is booked in to be tuned on this same dyno next week (SR with twin scroll 3076 - 52 trim) BP98 tune.

Took it for a drive last night, starts peeling out when it comes on boost in 3rd gear!

Do you know what sort of injector duty the 750's are getting up to with the fuel blend simon?

Unfortunately not, we unhooked the car from the dyno and put wheels back on and then all thought the same question but had forgotten to look...

Will hook up a laptop when I get a chance and run some data logging to have a look :D

First of all the comparison graph was made by a customer not my self, might not be very accountable as its on a different dyno and different car perhaps I shouldn't put it in here. How ever yours is still the most responsive GT3076R in .82 with pump fuel in the Dynosheet section.

The stronger mid rang might been more boost by I haven't seen your boost curve yet.

I believe even at same boost curve this specific version of ATR43G3 is very likely to beat you in power and torque because its not using a standard size Garrett wheel. which I believe yours is a 76mm 56T 12 blade.

I've built and rebuilt plenty of GT3076s and I know how they behaves on RB25dets. on road this one delivers a noticeable stronger punch but not as smooth. I can modify GT307x to do the same or modify the ATR43G3 to match what you've got.

Plus you should mention that you are running a special valve for response increasement. Without it yours is just ordinary.

Looks horribly laggy, even on a dyno it isn't hitting full boost until 5000rpm, what is it like on the road in 1st and 2nd, nothing nothing then it just smashes the limiter getting no traction?

Still it is a fair effort for the 20, would be good for burnouts and drags, don't reckon it'd go too well on the track though.

Full boost is about 4700rpm in 4th...

Starts to move at 4000 and giddys up by 4500!

Been on to a motorkana already, it's fine apart from really tight stuff (helps with good suspension, dont have to slow down as much :cool: )

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year. 
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
