hey guys...my mate has an evo7...he did some mods at home and they are -

Fuel pump

PFC

high flow turbo

Injectors (he will buy and get the tuner to put it in)

high flow exhaust

After all these mods he will want the car tuned properly...i told him about Techsport the evo guy but he said when he called him, they dont tune cars. They send them away to a tuner. That tuner qouted him $1000. He wasnt happy about the price so he was thinking of taking it to RE for $500 with that fitted injectors in the price too. But both of us havn't really heard much good stuff about RE so really would appreciate any other recomendations of where he is better off to give his car for tuning...THANKS!!

Give Rob at CREATD MOTORSPORTS a call, he has the quickest 1.8 litre lancer in Australia, it ran 10.18. He tunes Evo's WRX's GTR's all day long. He knows what he is talking about and he's a great tuner. He has around half a dozen Evo's down there at the moment.

There number is 9357 7663

Call RE Customs and see if Matt Lowth (close mate of mine) is still tuning via them - If he is, he is the guy you want :ermm: Otherwise RE also do tune as well i believe.

Uses the factory ECU and so on so nice and affordable, no drivebility problems.

His own car was making 280awkw before he sold it, one of the fastest street cars i have ever been in :P

just spoke to my mate after he had a word with Rob...he really liked the way Rob spoke and his rates...he is highly thinking of going to that place now..but if there are other good evo tuners please let us know so he can choose his machanic/tuner wisely...THANKS A LOT FOR YOU HELP JOSH!!!

Are they aftermarket or factory ECU tuning?

The factory ECU is 100% tuneable in basically every area. Better than Nistune :P

NAH with a PFC....like mention in the mods he done to the car....the did it all at home so he hasnt seen a machanic yet to work on the car...like me he plans to stick to one guy and before going to anyone, i wanted to get some reconmendations...

The guy at RE must be a great tuner but no offence to him, i personally havnt heard much great things about that place...it might be the other people other than his job causing that...not sure...or we might just know people who had bad experience with them...

All we know is that evo is only going there as the last resort...so please dont feel offended...especially his your mate...sorry :P

Ask Nick his the evo fan boi now

ya i know his got an evo so i am hoping he comments here...but spoke to a lot of evo guys and all say techsport...but they send cars off to get tune unfortunately...and that guy is asking for big money...well if it was me i will be ready to pay that since they are the best but he wasnt happy spending all that with them...you know him...the guy with the black evo...came to nandos with us where we first met....

The guy i mentioned does not work for RE.

He only tunes on their dyno, one of my best mates :P

Personally I'd go with the stock ECU, cheaper cause its free. The EVO factory ECU's are phenominal. You can even setup anti lag.

HAHAHA!!! too late...my mate already bought all the stuff...he got the Apexi PFC...for dirt price....so he might as well get it tuned with it on...

to talk to your best mate, do we call RE and ask for him and ask him if he can tune the car? But doesnt Ray tune the cars there? :P

It is going to be an animal very soon...just waiting on his new CAT...will take about 4 weeks to come for some reason...than just tune and the car is going to be blowing mine away...lol...

Sell it for a profit then :woot:

Call RE and discuss with them direct, im not sure what the arrangement is at the moment and im not about to give my mates details out etc cause of that.

RE do tune as well. Give em a ring either way if you are interested in it. If not then don't haha :P

^^ I was going to say Techsport, but I saw on an EVO forum saying they are not that good... Kinda mix responses really.

You'd be safe at RE Customs.

they missed that it was in a crash, and it had a bent control arm...............

saying that, my mate loves RE.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
