I was watching some clips on U-Tube this morning that my partner had left open for me to have a look at, and it was called "How to get out of a speeding fine" (
) and it got me thinking How have you got out of a ticket?

My most shamed attempt of getting out a ticket was being pulled over in my BMW for having a cracked break/tail light lens (not only was it cracked it would collect condensation in there that lead to there being water sloshing around in there) my break light was also frequently out because like most other things on the car it was falling apart, I can't remember if my break light was out at the time (In the end we fixed it was a cable tie and a length of gal wire) so this it how it went

Officer: Evening Miss, are you aware you have a crack in your tail light? *Officer pulls out a fine pad*

Me: Do I? *Playing dumb and looking shocked* Oh, No Officer I didn't. Do you mind if I hop out and have a look?

Officer: That's fine,it's the drivers side

*Walks to back of car* *Opens boot* *Leans into boot and plays with some wires* By this stage I knew the cop had taken the bait was staring at my arse *closes boot and returns to car*

Officer: I suppose I can let you go with a warning this time but make sure you get it fixed.

Me: Yeah sure Officer. Bye

I call bullsh1t

I have also shamelessly told a cop that he's blue uniform went excellent with his eyes, and asked another officer if he works out. I only have 2 points left so I got excellent at kissing arse when I was driving that car

lol, Thread:Distracted.

I've never gotten out of anything, what I've been caught for I've copped on the chin.

Although once on Hoddle Street I was pulled over by 5 very attractive 30-something year olds in a Response Van for warming my tires (very discretely and under the speed limit) who then interrogated me for 15 minutes about one of my indicators not having a lens cap, my loss of license two years ago (completely irrelevant) and the fact that my bike apparently hadn't been registered for 2 years. I showed them the sticker and asked how I would have been able to receive the sticker and also transfer the bike two months ago into my name if that was the case. They then told me that what I was doing wasn't necessary when I have slid around the on ramp to the Eastern before at low speed and was trained in motorcycle tyre compounds >.> Then they left promptly without charging me with anything, most likely because they had nothing... and I ended up being so freaked out from the experience that I cried the whole way home f*cking my vision increasing chance of error. Oh the irony.

I was actually keen on joining the cops before that experience.

Other than that good on you for getting out of it... but my opinion is you reap what you sew. Don't do it if you can't cop the punishment.

Sorry for the delayed reply, but I have been in lock-up.

After reading your success with the above methods I promptly went out to try them.

I grabbed a heavily iced cake, face planted in it, put on my broad minded persontiest clothes, then went out to my skyline(thats right boys, a lady*cough* in a MODIFIED skyline!), pulled a brake light globe out and hit the streets.

Not long after hitting the freeway I was pulled over by an officer on a motorcycle- Time to test these advertised methods!

Officer: Are you aware you have a brake light out?

Me: No(yes), do you mind if I hop out and take a look?(ensuring I have skin hanging out in all the appropriate areas, beached as)

Officer: Well yes I do mind *takes out pad*

Me: Is that for my number?

Officer: Its for A number!

Me: What number is that officer?*fluttering eyelids, cleavage out*

Officer: A FINE!*looks like they are about to puke*

Me: Oh no!

*Realsing my efforts have failed, I am now trying the next method*

Me: Oh my officer, have you looked at that lovely moon this evening? It matches your shiny white motorcycle, and your lovely tan!

*Officer turns red at the moon-tan refference*

Officer: Time for you to come with me!

Me: A date? Am I out of my fine?

Officer: No, I am locking you up on suspicion of prostition pending a mental health assesment!

Me: But officer, I'm from the country, we don't belive in self-respect!

Officer: Woman, this is 2010, grow up!

*I now get dragged off for a night in lockup hence the delayed response*

Please help, Am I doing it wrong?

HAHAH i like this version much better -) haha

my name is detective john kimble

And i love my car! :D

Easy way to avoid any fine.... drive a car with the badges "Toyota" and "Diesel" on it. It's been 2 years driving with those badges and i still have 12 points.

I have had no point offences: Stagea, r32, datsun 1600 etc. There is a time and a place

This is more realistic that the original post.

exactly!

same boat as you mate.

And i love my car! wink.gif

AHAH was waiting for that! :D

on another note - im willing to dress like a policeman and have the females practice ticket/fine evasion techniques!

photographic evidence will be taken!

enquire within!

stagea doesn't count. nobody knows what they are.

you barely drove your 32.

you owned the 1600 a while ago. times have changed.

i did managed to get out of a speeding fine once. not that i know how.

this was when i was driving the VN Wagon before i had a s14. this is a guess of the conv, happened back in jan.

cop "you in a hurry sir?"

me "not really"

cop "we clocked you doing 75ks through that round-about back there"

me "oh really?" *happy that my speedo was slightly overstating*

cop "please license, we ll just take a look around the car"

*discussion about the p plates (rear one always falls down and my rear tyres)

cop "ill come back with a speeding fine, no p plate fine and a defect notice"

*5mins*

cop "here's a fine for the lack of p plates, make sure you have them visible at all times"

me "what about the defect"

cop "get the tyres changed asap"

me "yes sir"

cop "you can go"

ironically those 3 points from the no p plate fine came back to haunt me and i ended up losing my license anyways.

My point merely was, that something with more powah than a diesel van I still kept my license :)

how have times changed since 2-3yrs ago? they didnt hand out cookies instead of fines back then...

32 did 7-9k km in a year, for a weekender, that is only driven when I am driving it for fun, and given hours worked, I was happy with that.

I would like to say that I have never pulled my badge out to get out of fine. Only pulled over once doing something minor wrong and didn't pull the badge. Didn't need to as I work at the same station with them. Win all the way.

I think that I would be the only member to have issued fine to his Acting Inspector/Station boss. He was at fault in collision I attended and as such received a fine like anyone else would!

    • If it dies, then bypass. The task isn't difficult. I have one running on a standard R32 FPCM. That's after nearly 20 years of it running an 040, which pull substantially more current than the Walbro. They're not the same module, but I'd hope it indicates that the R33 one should be man enough for the job. I think people kill them when putting proper sized pumps on them, not these little toy pumps we're talking about here.
    • Silicone spray won't hurt anything. And if it does, that's an opportunity to put some solid steel spherical bushings in, so you can really learn what suspension noise sounds like, If you're going to try it, just spray one bush at a time, so you can work out which one is actually noisy. My best guess is that if the noise started only since putting the coilovers in, then it is just noise being transmitted up through the top mounts of the struts, and not necessarily "new" noise from bushes. But it's almost impossible to know.
    • Are you saying the 34 is SUV height, and not that we're talking about an SUV here? (because if we're talking about an SUV, you don't fix them. You just replace them when something breaks. Not worth establishing sufficient emotional connection with an SUV to warrant doing any work on one). I wouldn't jack my car up on a short little loop of 10mm steel rod poking out through a hole in the bumper bar, front or rear end. I realise that we're probably not talking about that type of loop at the front, being the one under/behind the bar on a Skyline.... but even for that one, trying to jack up on what amounts to a thin piece of steel, designed purely for withstanding a horizontal tension force, not a vertical compressive force (and so would be prone to buckling/crushing) and, my most particular bitch about it - located RIGHT AT THE EXTREME FRONT OF THE CAR, applying a load up through the radiator support panel, etc, with almost the entire mass of the car cantilevered between there and the rear wheels? Nope. Not doing that. Not on the regular. That structure out there in front of the front crossmember is not designed to carry load in the vertical direction. Not really designed to carry any load at all, really. The chassis rail that the tow point is connected to would be fine loaded in tension, as per towing. Not intended to carry the mass of the whole car, especially loaded all on one rail, with twisting and all sorts of shitty load distribution going on. No, I will happily drive up on some pieces of wood, thanks. That can only happen on driven wheels, and they are at the other end of the car, and this problem does not exist at that end of the car. And even then, I have been known to drive up on at least 1x piece of 2x8 each side at the rear, simply to reduce the amount of jack pumping necessary to get the car up high enough for the jack stands. What really really shits me about Skylines is the lack of decent places for chassis stands at either end of the car. You'd think they'd be designed into the crossmembers.
    • I've got MCA Blues on my V36 Skyline, and while I've managed to sort out issues with scrubbing/bottoming out by raising it a smidge and increasing the damping hardness, the rear end still sounds *super* noisy when driving on anything other than the flattest surface imaginable. It sounds like a small party of flamingos are just chatting away in the back, which makes me think there are several link points in the suspension contributing to the noise. Am I hearing dried out/worn bushings? None of it sounds like metal-on-metal, it sounds more like hard rubber squeaking on metal. It's been suggested that a bit of silicon spray on each bushing might quiet them down, but I'm not sure what material the current bushings are made of (probably factory, I imagine) and whether silicon spray will degrade that material.
    • The obvious answer here is get a ND2/3 RF with the Targa top. The red is nicer, too!
