That's a lonnnnggg wait until sunday. You better hope the sun doesn't come out or get the black light working VERY soon!

P.S. I'm laughing my fcuking ass off at you Owen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owen, You have checked the car for semen right?

In other news... I missed a deadline for a local photo comp waiting for a blue sky and forgetting dates. here's the other 2 i put together for this. Those who met at the river on sunday mat recognise the scene.

This one is a bit of a different style to what I usually try to create, what are your thoughts? I'm not sure about it. I definately know that some shadows on the pillars would have gone a long way, but besides that... what do you think?

Well we did do something :( I shall not reveal the secret though :)

Matt i don't think tilts work on landscapes. It's just something "wrong" about it. I like the processing though. Makes it seem like an old film photograph!

Nah i mean the horizon isn't straight because it's tilted. That kind of way. It's an abstract shot and i like it, but i would prefer it more if it was straight.

On another note - I'm watching the Jasmine star Creative Live show (All 5 days of it i have). If your a wedding photographer - She really has direction! She knows what she wants straight away. Although i find it weird how she changes lenses. She doesn't put front or rear caps on, puts them in her shootsac and then changes by just ripping them off and chucking them in her bag. I would imagine she would get her sensor cleaned after every wedding for free anyway but still... And when she shoots, she presses the shutter and the whole camera tilts down. Either way her photos are fcuking amazing and i respect her alot!

Yes i'm looking at you Sidd asking for it off me already lol. It's 16GB.

Nice shots, Matt, but I'm thinking the same as Kory - that bridge shot looks "odd."

Oh Kory, have you taken your Photo5 shots yet? The first one is due this Sunday (17/10/10), and each submission is on the preceding days after that (18th, 19, 20th, and the open brief on the 21st).

Owen, even though you didn't get the Photo5 pack, you can still enter a submission for the last Brief...

Good work Serg. 4 and 5 are best. Not just cos its a 35 either

Nick, Kory, I think it looks off because the rock and reeds go straight up. So your head thinks half the pic is straight and other half isn't.

Some nice shots there Serg! Are you panning at around 1/100th? It looks like it. Maybe try and drop your shutter speed to 1/80th or 1/60th in a few shots because the backgrounds are so "busy" but besides that, loving them! Great shots, kinda jealous NSW doesn't have this stuff (That is close to me anyway).

Nick - I haven't even started on Photo5 yet lol. Will start on thursday

Matt - I think its because the bridge is angled with the "Hektik" angle and the foreground is kind of straight so your eyes play tricks on you.

Owen - Lucky it's not Sunny today!!!

Photo5

ah damn, forgot this was on again. would have been nice to enter and at least dream about wining a 5D, lol.

might have a go at brief 5 seeing as its an open brief. would be extremely funny if a Lumix took the winning photo

I varry shutter speeds a lot, anything from 1/40 to 1/250 ish, depends on situation, car speed, corner or straight, focal length, and how hung over I may be at the time...

Id love to lower it more in some shots but shooting at 200mm with a non is lens fully hand held makes it hard.

Normaly I would look for a place that doesnt have a bussy backgound but didnt have media access for Targa West so choice of spots was limited

Totally understand about the access part. Hard to get good shots from spectator POV's sometimes, but these turned out great and i wouldn't even know you were a spectator until you just told me :)

I shoot at 200mm or 500mm with the IS off when panning. I have had varied results with IS on when shooting below 1/100th because of the slight movement. I mostly shoot at 1/50th, though when IS is on, i get results that seem soft etc.. but i do the same thing (basically) and the results are fine with IS off.

The milliseconds it takes IS to kick in, i've already taken the shot, so i just turn it off now and get consistent results.

Have a play with it! Each to there own i suppose though.

    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
