Hi all.Was told by a reputable worskshop and tuner on the gold coast that unless i put a orc twin plate clutch or similar in my R33 RB25 which will soon be running arond 270 rwkw that only a twin plate will stand up to the job.Running an Apexi ax53b7025 turbo.I am planning on taking the car to the drags to see what it is capable of.Other than that it will be my weekend car and am planning on taking it to events such as powercruise.Does anybody think a heavy duty of some sort or a Jim Berry clutch would be up to the task?I was Quoted $3000 for the ORC twin plate but i can not afford it at this point in time and not in the near future either.

I'm currently running a single plate organic (custom built by a racing shop in sydney) on my GTR. 400kw atw and does not slip. Been on for a year at that power level and yet to have any issues. I get them through my mechanic here in brissy, pull type on a GTR is $1350 and $1250 for a pull type. If this sort of set up interests you send me a PM and I'll see if I can organise one for you.

After doing some research, either a Jim Berry or what joeyjoejoe's running.

Currently running an Exedy heavy duty uncushioned ceramic single plate on my car atm. 297rwkw for nearly 12 months and the clutch has not slipped once. I run the same gearbox as yours so if you're looking for the exact same clutch then the part number is = NSK-7056HDB. Got it through a mate, can't remember exactly how much I paid but I'm certain it was around the $450 mark. Brand new, came in a kit with new thrust and spigot bearings.

you can certainly go harder than that though

I run the HHHDB and it's really pretty easy to drive and will take a LOT of punishment

i got i wholesale so have no idea of the retail $

Who needs twin or even triple when you have a Jim Berry single plate?!

A friend of mine has over 700awkw in his GTR and has drag raced the car for over 9 months. No dramas.

Getting rebuilt now at a cost of $500!!!

Best value, best performace clutch in the world hands down.

Same clutch is in my car and will never look back. Almost stock feel too.

had a $300 clutch (2500lb organic) made by a local mob that handled 250rwkw for a couple of years, was still fine on the street and was very nice to drive but slipped at the drags after a hard launch. now got a 3000lb ceramic from the same place for $450, will see how it goes with 300+rwkw and 30det torque

definately no need for $3000 twin plates

Call Dan at Elite Racing on 3807 2789 he will get you somthing from NPC which is usually cheaper than Jim and uses a pressure plate that is less inclined to grenade in a dangerous manner as Finelines Jim Berry did

Nismo twin plate... would never use anything else.

ran one in my gts-t with over 350hp lots of track work (lots and lots of drift e.g clutch kicking) took the clutch out and it looked brand new had been in the car for atlest 3years.

was very streetable with no rattle and not super hard, was easier to drive than my old 5puk button clutch and alot nicer on my gbox/drive-train

    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
    • To re-cap, I bought: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Lsailt-8G-Infiniti-Q50-Q60-2014_1601171829627.html?spm=a2756.trade-list-buyer.0.0.2cd476e9FTIlKE As you can see, if I bought 20 it was $653, but I bought 1 so it was $1,170. I was very tempted to buy 2 and resell 1 at 25% cheaper. @MBS206, I am not sure if they do a Kluger one, here is their list but it might be there under a global model name: http://www.lsailt.com/product/android-interface?page=1 Keep in mind these full android replacements have basically all the bits a phone does (cpu, ram, storage, wifi, bluetooth, usb interfaces) other than a screen (it uses a host), thus the $800+ cost. Android Auto screen mirroring is MUCH cheaper as it's just a cut down shell, input mirroring and output mirroring BTW I also need that "screen off" feature, it is much harder to see wildlife even if a dash is reasonably dark. Both the Fuga and V37 have display off buttons for night use, they just come back on for a second or 3 if you interact with it, eg skip a song.
