No good Steve!

Fair bit of damage but better the car than you. Glad you're not hurt.

Going the pink next time? :D

I was wondering when you would come on and see it, was going to call you and let you know but haven't been in the mood to talk since it happened.

Would like another pink one but they are fairly rare in this colour. I might hold out a couple of weeks and just see what pops up. Might just pick up a cheap pulsar or maxima for general transport until something comes along and I am ready.

I am very likely to be a nervous driver for quiet a while, this guy gave me a huge front side shunt, there was no way I could of kept it off the median strip and away from the metal fence.

Not in the mood atm, but I have quiet a stash of new damage photos to post up that I took this morning. No engine bay shots yet tho as the bonnet is not going to be easy to open. I want my powerduct, not parting with that as I am not going to let Nissan shaft me on that again lol

Ok, time for some pics. I have some more from underneath from a different camera but I havn't downloaded them yet so I'll do them another day.

First off, the damage left from the initial collision with the other vehicle as it decided it wanted to be in my lane

After this impact, which you can tell was very front heavy, the stagea was forced onto the median strip and through the fence. Thankfully I kept the car on the median strip and didn't end up on the other side of the road.

The end result after the second part of the ordeal.

And one of the fence posts I discovered was wedged underneath.

Terrible shame to hear about your misfortune, but as others have said, could have been much worse (probably not much comfort at the moment). Looks like you took a big hit, try not to spend too much time doing "what if's"; not your fault, some things can't be avoided.

Hope insurance doesn't keep you waiting too long.

Regards, Dale

On a somewhat positive note, that green steel fence would have gone a long way in keeping you from crossing over to the other side of the road and a potential head on. There used to the a crappy (less solid) brown fence that would have done little.

Sorry to hear , and a nice m35 also.. i always liked the colour of yours bisbee!

on another positive note if they give you a decent price on the buy back you should probably buy it back from insurance.. the engine and running gear looks fine. and im sure that it would get stripped for parts by the keen ants here online. and purchased for a decent price.

suspension and brakes also not to mention the interior dont you have black leather?

. you could probably make some money on it if its a reasonable price ontop of your insurance. could end up ahead.

looks like all that took a hit was the radiator and trans cooler in the radiator in respect to the engine and of course the intercooler looks like it exploded into the ether.. i take it thats what the big puddle on the ground is?

dibs on your engine if your selling it!

You sure about that, Keir? There's likely a mixture of transmission fluid and engine oil all over the ground (notice the two different shades of fluid?), and what I'm pretty sure is the sump looks pretty much f*cked, so I doubt that it survived too well, unfortunately.

And wow, that fence post made it a fair way back along the car to be past the rear diff and under the spare wheel well, hey?

How are you feeling, Stephen?

The damage is worse than I initially thought. I even found that there are two long pieces of metal fence wedged underneath.

Sorry to see/hear.

Yes, I was wondering where the rest of the fence went to.

did the air bag go off??

Lol, no, I had the dreaded RAM issue with my drivers seat.

However, that said the way the accident happened was fairly gentle, had they gone off they would have only made thing worse... possible broken nose, broken glasses.

The biggest impact was the side one, I seen him out the corner of my eye just b4 impact, I then swore and gripped the wheel tight. So even the passenger side impact didn't catch me by surprise. Once I hit the fence it slowed me up gradually, not like hitting a brickwall or anything. Sh1t factors aside, I was quiet fortunate.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
