So i'm looking into buying some lenso D1R's, and not completely sure what colour to get, as well as offsets, etc. My r34 gtt is black with an impul kit (see pictures below) , and will be getting smoked indicators all round fairly soon unless you think clear might suit this set up better? I got my brother to do a really quick photoshop job on a picture of the car to give some sort of idea as to what they will look like in both black w/ red line, and aluminium w/ polished lip. Personally i'm heading towards the aluminium look with smoked indicators, but that's where i'd appreciate some constructive comments (none of the usual "oh they're bad rims anyway" "they're heavy" etc etc.) They will be street wheels, not for the track, so therefore i dont mind if they have a bit of weight or arent built to the same quality as some proper jap wheels. The size and offsets of rims, as well as tyre sizes i'm looking into running are 18x9 +12 225/40/18 (front), 18x10 +22 255/35/18 (rear). Would these be the best size to fit? I looked in the R34 Picture thread and "SiNNO" is running this setup, so i know it can be done, but my car is sitting a bit lower than his, so i might need a bit of camber? Is this the most aggressive setup I should run? These photoshopped pics give no justice to the amount of dish there would be, especially at the rears. :) Couldnt get pics to sit in here from photobucket, so have to upload them the crap way :) .

not a fan of the wheels at all but if i had to choose id say go the black and f**k off the red line....

I see where you're coming from, but i'm only looking into getting them because they are a cheap wheel with good dish. Not looking to spend a large amount of money at the moment to get some volk/work/gram lights.

hey mate,

definately would go for the black hweels and the smoked Nismo indicators and front lamps.

They'll look tuff! The black D1Rs won 'Best Wheels Award' at last year's R34 GT-R 10th Anniversary.

That doesn't say much for the people voting or the wheels that were there. I hope it's just clueless people voting for Chinese wheels over multi-thousand dollar lightweight race wheels.

    • Order for the 2025 model R35 GT-R were accepted from 3rd March and 26th August the last order rolled off the production line at the Tochigi plant. Concerning the R35 GT-R replacement, current Nissan CEO Ivan Espinosa said "Nothing has been decided about the GT-R at this time, but we are well aware that everyone is waiting. The GT-R will evolve and reappear in the future. Please be patient until that day comes." Nissan has a lot of issues with management and finances so take Espinosa's words with a big grain of salt. From what discussions I've had and read about here in Japan, not a lot of people are confident about Nissan's future, let alone the next GT-R.
    • Thanks. We getting some parts along too so he will be solving the speed issue like next week so i will let you know what he came up with.
    • 21 is explicitly the coils detected as the issue. Is it guaranteed the actual issue? No. Just the ECU thinks it is. When you say rattling, describe it better, get an audio clip as best you can if possible.
    • Yea got me coppers. Bad news is I just put them in and the car still has the light and shakes. I also noticed I hear like rattling coming from the exhaust piping right under me. Does 21 also have a possibility of being O2 sensors?   So, coil packs are good, the harness is good, the MAF is working, and obviously the spark plugs just replaced and working.
    • Make sure you drop the GTT base tune back in, and set your injectors again, this will remove anything playing up with it you may have removed. Possibly lean there as it's normally a fast transient going THROUGH atmospheric pressure, and a turbo motor would then quickly go richer as boost builds. The only worry you MIGHT have is ignition timing, as the DE is higher compression than the DET from memory. But again, you're not in boost, so the DE motor will be a lot more forgiving at atmospheric.   Get Murray, Kinkstahs, and Johnny's input on tuning haltechs, those guys have played with tuning enough in the past to be able to help now you're past the trouble shooting stage of the MAP issue
