B-Man
Looks like my Power FC has busted. It was working fine..... Now car won't start. (I don't know any more than that as car is at the shop) Workshop put a Microtech LTX12 in and fires up OK. So looks like something up with the PFC. It had previously lost settings (the AFM setting) though. Anyone got any ideas on what's wrong or who can fix it ? (it was bought 2nd hand and from Japan) For now the Microtech is staying in - maybe I should just keep this in ?? Ideas, Comments are appreciated Thanks, Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/34140-who-fixes-power-fcs/ Share on other sites
meggala
lkooks alittle convient that the power fc doesnt work but the microtech does. your fuel economy will be much worse with the microtech. think carefully be for you act. was the car cranking did it have fuel did it have spark? cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/34140-who-fixes-power-fcs/#findComment-684742 Share on other sites
ph1
it's interesting that the AFM settings were lost... someone on the gtr.co.uk forums also reported that their Power FC lost its AFM settings, as well as a few other settings, injectors and ign maps from memory. B-Man
Well, the car has been sitting around for a month waiting for new turbo etc - Last time the AFM setting were lost, the battery went flat - I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Or if it was damaged when charging the battery ?? I know it sounds strange Steve - but they wouldn't be doing this deliberately - We are trying to get the car ready for DC tomorrow and putting the Microtech in was the quickest way to trouble shoot. If they had another PFC they would have put this in, but are out of stock. I don't think the thing even fires now - it just cranks over - put the Microtech in and works OK - So not wiring. If the Microtech was tuned properly the consumption wouldn't be too bad would it ? If anyone knows someone that can test and fix the PFC, lemme know - Or, maybe I just buy a new one.... Damn it - I am having no luck with this car....... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/34140-who-fixes-power-fcs/#findComment-684751 Share on other sites
predator
Somebody else I know was having trouble with their AVC-R. From this I found you can apparently ship them back to Apexi Japan and they can fix it. They'll charge you for the time/labour to get it fixed though.. could be a few hundred $ so I guess you just have to figure its worth it or not. An authorised Apexi dealer here could probably hook you up to send it off, etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/34140-who-fixes-power-fcs/#findComment-685013 Share on other sites
sidewaymambo
I know someone here has this similar issue, while doing smash repair, the battery went flat, so the smash repairer just charge the battery, and blew the power fc....maybe it's the same thing? Jay95R33
Any chance of trying another PFC on the car?? It wouldn't be something as simple as the PFC has been re-set, and now it won't start cause the boost control option is turned on ?? I'll be lookin into why the PFC busted later - right now, I need the car going by tomorrow....... I'll leave the Mtech in for a while and see how it goes - I *might* keep it - Comes with fancy head up display too ! wank wank Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/34140-who-fixes-power-fcs/#findComment-685069 Share on other sites
Warpspeed
Is there any reason why you could not try a stock computer. It might not be great, but it should at least start and run. That will tell you for sure if the problem is inside the PFC or outside. franks
dude, just a word of warning dont go rushing shit with the computer just for drag combat otherwise the car might be in the workshop for another long stint!
