Yeah pretty much esp with stock coils to use the BCPR6ES as yeah you get better contacts, also VL Turbos run them so out here in the boonies at least I know I can get them just about anywhere. You could probably use the -11 (denotes 1.1mm vs 0.8mm gap) given you have it pretty stock.

anyway, buying an ignitor off a fellow forum member read on another forum a guy had the exact same problems as me and it was the ignitor.

what happens when you swap coil pack one and two then do the coil pack elimination thing that Birds suggested? does the miss move to where you put the suspected dud coil pack? If so it aint your ingnitor

this stuff is pretty easy you just need to use logic to isolate the broken bit

Yeah could be ignitor or wiring for that pack - have you checked continuity with a multimeter?

Could be the loom plug for cylinder one, ignitor...or fuel related.

swapped it in

small improvement overall but still nothing in cylinder 1!!!!!!11

i took out the loom and had a good look at it, seems the actual plugs have deteriorated. will get it checked out tomorrow and post up the results

You are such a twit! I'm surprised you didn't just buy a new engine and cut out the middleman. I understand what you said about the learning curve but yours is more like a quadratic.

birds, im narrowing it down.

checked out my loom properly, looks like plug 1 was crushed internally. so i cleaned it out. will try and connect the - connectors to the + ones on the coil packs when i get home

then ill move onto injectors.
