Photographed a sangeet last night. Wedding is next week so cant wait for that one.

While everyone was dancing I wanted to experiment a bit with the fisheye. The sigma 8mm produces full 180 degree pic.

Here is a random one i opened up. Have not added anything to the pic.

Yea its a useless lens.. but was just experimenting.

Nice work Sidd. WHat's a Sangeet? just like a pre wedding party or something? :D

Yeah, I was thinking that lens would rock if you were sitting up top of a ramp or half pipe. You could make little planet pics too. It's useless but nifty. I totally see the appeal!

New month... new job.

So, re-started my career as a bike courier today. Took a few pics when it was a bit slow (ie almost all morning, lol)

And damn Matt, awesome shots!

Edited by Jay019

Here's my effort from Saturday night's photo session with Kory, Matt, Eric and a bunch of GTR owners.

Massive thanks to Kory and Matt for the "tutorials" on my first attempt at light-painting!

This particular car was bought that same day by "NinjaEv" Evan and only rocked up around a hour before we finished up for the night.

Sweet shots Jay! Wish i got to take shots all day whilst working haha.

Nick - Turned out awesome! This is when Evan was painting for you wasn't it? Post up the silver 32 shots where you were painting! Either way, great job!

Went cruising on the weekend, took the camera as always:

Spent more time shooting the dams then the cars... Grabbed a few people photos, but they were more "Facebook" then "Photography". Not going to waste my time with them.

My friends eyes at Halloween:

Sexy...

i prefer the top one. much better exposure, no glare on windscreen and upper body. wheels also has much smoother motion blur.

but thats just me. the background in the second one conveys the speed a bit better i think

Nick, if you want more light painting 'training' i'll let you know next time i'm heading out to do some. you can come along and i'll show you some more/give you some more practice. Or we could experiment on the stag. it's a challenging colour. actually... i like that idea more. let's get together and work out how to best light your stag. hahaha that sounds dirty as.

nice shots boys, Jay I'm jealous. i wanna ride through the city taking shots all day :)

As i've already said, sweet shots matt. Did you accidently clone the same part of the sky (the triangles) multiple times in the 1st shot? Above Duncans car?

Hhmmm, i like the second one because of the motion of speed, but i like the 1st ones for the same reason you mentioned.

I'll re-edit it and burn the windscreen and bonnet, i forgot to do that.

I pulled the car up 2 stops, it seemed to of just went "dark" at the time i took these shots. It was almost 130am when i posted it so i was really tired and just wanted to post it up. Will fix it up tonight!

You reckong the sky looks a bit funny? maybe i'll give it a rework if it's that noticable. i had to clone out all the damn power lines and some other random junk. must have gotten a bit lazy when i got tired ;/

I like the 2nd one i think. i don't even mind the brightness of it. adds to the feeling of speed i think. just my 2c ;p which is actually worth only 1c.

Yeah it was the first thing i noticed. It just looks odd because they are triangular shaped lol. The same triangle shape is there twice as well. But looks like it should be a pretty simple clone job now as the textures are the same pretty much. Heal that sh!t up!

I like the 2nd one too, but its cranked up two stops and starting to artifact from pulling it up so much. I think thats as far as i can push it. On my IPS monitor at home, the colour pops really well and its a lot brighter than on my work monitor here. I'll burn the parts of the car down and see what it looks like from there. So hard to choose!

    • The HG high flow is excellent, and costs about the $$ you're talking about. But it, and probably every other highflow, uses a diffeent core than the original turo, and the original Hitatchi core is quite long. So, I think it is inevitable that there is likely no such thing as a highflow that just "bolts on" with no other effort required. And the same is likely true for HG's outright replacement "bolt on" turbos (the ATR things). And the same is likely true for anything similar from elsewhere. I have no idea if the cheap Chinese/Taiwanese complete turbos from eBay/Temu/etc are as bolt on as they claim. I mean, they claim the bolt onto the NAs as well as the turbos, and we know that can't be "bolt on". But it wouldn't matter because I'm not buying a $169 4 psi turbo for anything other than a paddock basher.
    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
