I think the new 100L macro is way to sharp. I seriously thought of not even applying any sort of sharpening. I just did a smart sharpen at 12% and left it at that.

First attempt at panoramas. Took 3 shots, but PS would only join two. Not too happy with them tbh, there was a lot more detail I wanted in photo. Is there a better program I could try?

Hmm I'd suggest doing it again but just before sunrise or just after sunset - will make a massive difference

Maybe also try bumping up the ISO a little..

you could do a hdr(or fake) of each shot, make 3 panos and blend them to suit...? probably still need to get there earlier/later though.

- Shoot portrait (ie camera vertical not horizontal)

- Overlap lots - I normally over lap each shot by 50% (ie half of the photo was in the previous photo)

- Shoot manual more (maybe shoot first one in auto and see what settings camera suggest)

- Don't stuff around too much - shoot them quickly to minimise cloud movements etc - but remember to hold camera still while actually taking the pic

A panhead tripod head is great for this kind of stuff. Also a leveller too. Don't jump around whilst your taking the photos either to minimize vibration.

**NOTE: Jumping occurs when you take superbly amazingly awesome pics. It's a photographers syndrome.

I'll take that advice on board, fellas. I turned bracket exposure on and took 9 shots, 3 of each, but adding to HDRkinda failed. Too light, looked like crap. I'll go back just after sunset and retry though.

Oh yeah, the camera was on a tripod with stability turned off, so wasnt moving at all.

Shan, needs more offset not low. Struggled to get up my curb as it was! Lol

Photographed a tamil wedding last night. The ceremony was totally different and I have never witnessed such traditions. This is why I love these types of weddings. Nothing is ever the same and there is seriously so much happening that if you just relax for a slight second you will miss a key shot. I was only the 2nd shooter for Jay (photos by jay).

Also the bride arrived on a palkhi which I have never seen before. I always see the groom arrive on a horse, but this was totally different. Just imagine all those years ago when we still had kings and queens...I remember visiting a fortress years ago in rajasthan and they had a few gold palkhis!!! As in pure gold!! They even had silver ones in there. The one below is probably just wood.

She seriously looked so stunning!!! Love her eye lashes too.
