Please buddy type proper english - cause it farken gave me a headache reading your post.

To Transport the car, will cost you approx 800 - 1000 bucks on a truck with a reputable transport company like TNT, Toll, ect. My friend just transported a HSV form Melbourne to here and cost him 800 exactly. If you are putting it on a truck, spend a extra 100 bucks and buy a excellent quality car cover to put on your car when on the truck, otherwise when it gets here it will have bugs, dirt, and general crap all over it, not to mention possible stone chips.

Daniel

because he was my best mate here in perth, about a year and a half ago and he needs to sell it as hes goin overseas and he knows how much i like it....

ok, allow me to clarify the question.

let us assume that you and he are mates and that he is indeed willing to give you a cheaper price because of that.

I will infer from the fact that he drives a rolla that he's not worth the sort of megga-bling that would enable him to just give away $2000 to mates though.

therefore, there has to be some level of realism behind it.

for example, I wouldnt just give a mate a $2,000 because he's a mate, circumstances depending. I would however be prepared to let something go a bit cheaper, i.e. be less cut-throat about bargaining, because it's a mate.

maaate! :)

however, only to within reasonable limits.

i.e.,

if I had some stuff lying around that I wanted rid of, I might say to a mate, look, just take it and gimme a carton/sixer/dinner next time/30% of the actual value type thing.

However, I would not give a mate a 25% discount on an item worth 8+ grand...... maybe 15 to 10% ? depending on the mate and the gut feel.

and I would not sell a car worth 4 grand for 2 just cause I'm mates with the guy.

therefore, my question to you is twofold:

How on earth is the car worth more than 4 grand? if it's not, does your mate have rocks in his head?

if the car is (somehow) an expensive item (let's say 13,000 - based on the 15% principle), why on earth would you buy a corrolla turbo for which there are likely to be very low parts availability and massively high insurance costs anyways?

I understand zanda, yer we go way back he use to live in my street, and i helped him with his car with putting parts on etc, but yer, its I dunno, just he offered me it hell cheap, also like i got my first car really cheaps aswell, sometimes it just happens, i dunno how to explain it.

ADRIAN - so was that saying it would be 2 times that price, or what, sorry I dont understand..

with parts do you mean?

Cwest Jumbo Aerofoil on the back of an excel?

some wynns , go fast shitty car?

Nismo stickers big enough to block your windscreen?

a single blue neon tube (with launch switches) wrapped around the single BOSS Audio (from clark rubber) subwoofer in the back of a sigma?

hes probably trying to sell it to you because you cant see the blue smoke blowing out the back of it or the 3 out of 12 blades left on the turbo.

I think if i had a mate who was about to skip the country , and keen to sell me a turbo car more than 10 years old for a ' real ' mates rate discount obviously thrashed the shit out of , then well

I'd be cautious

you should be a used car dealer, you seem to be able to spot a real bargain .

Or better yet a high school english teacher

phuqn...about to wet myself laughing :P

love ur work Zanda

GTRboy: if its going to cost approximately $1,200 to get it on the road in WA, then $2000 off doesnt really seem worthwhile anymore. The fact that this is an old car which you have no means of inspecting is risky, as the approx $800 saved is peanuts if repairs are required.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
