Course it is - there is a NSW contingent coming down. Eric (NSW) & Vu (SA) are going to be doing some filming for state clubs that will go onto the DVD as well, so it'll be quite awesome :)

Just to spectate @ both events will be free :)

if its th one in your avatar, its a cube with mags. Mr Chef has set the bar with cubes

Why so serious? It's almost stock, I'd just be entering for a laugh, it wouldn't win anything. But I was making the point that some FWDs might like to enter and there's no class for them to enter in.

Perhaps its just me but I dont see the point of a "Best Intruder" class when there are still other area's to add trophies for the skylines.

"Best Engineered" for example. Sure its a pipe dream for me, but if the class existed, I would be stoked if I won it. Or of I didn't it would be nice at least to be compared with other highly engineered cars. Best modified R32/R33/R34 could also potentially have their own classes.

Considering Im driving over 6000km to attend this event, I see "best intruder" as being about as important as the best commodore burnout. Both are things I won't be looking at while at a 'Skyline' event.

(Dont take that as though I'm hating on your cube either. After all, my other car is a vw! We are all entitled to our bad tastes and insanities.)

Good ideas there Ian, and valid points. It's people like you travelling as far as you are - is what we are trying to accommodate best. Hence limited track day numbers to give everyone as much track time as possible for their travel.

Best Modified though - interesting class given there is already "best R34" and "best overall GTR" - the same car would potentially already take two trophies and then best mod as well.

Unfortunately the budget for the event isn't endless so can have unlimited trophies for all classes.

Although that said I've been talking to 2-3 places for trophies and getting rough quotes. If its as all possible there will be more classes. Will come down to whatever kinda deal can be organised really

Hoping to get all the SAU Club Presidents along to do the judging, and then one club member as well or something.

Was also thinking of a SAU Club "grudge trophy" for the Club with the most attitude, and then each year it gets taken into account and various clubs could win it for the year haha. Nothing like a bit of friendly rivalry,

Also if people that are coming to the SAU Nats, want a pic of their car on the Facebook album - shoot a pic though

Already a few pics going up/coming though.

Gotta say I'm massively pumped about this. Finishing touches being applied to the 32 in preparation, but damnit shoulda done the track day on the Sunday and show n shine the day before - cos the car is going to rock up perfect, then get thrashed on the track.... I need a pet detailer :D

Ash, what do you think the chances are of finding accommodation now for 2 people?

No idea?

The Accommodation Widget on the site will give you an idea pretty quickly.

It's real time - so you can book now :)

yeah sussed it out, looks to be plenty of options available so that's a good sign. Not sure what days I'm coming yet or if I'm staying, so I'll look again when I know what's going on..

Any idea where the majority of the Vic guys are staying?

No doubt quite a few of you all have cars insured with them, they will also come along with a trade stand for both days with people you can chat to on the day about Insurance for your ride

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
