well im glad you saw this first.

if your planning on doing a Body kit.. dont get an ARX lol..

i want to change my front bar now but its a bitch with the wheel arches....

:( I still love my POS though..

LOL, stop complaining, I have already told you what you can do, bud.

Axis front bar and colourcode as Craig and Dale said... BUT you will need a custom grill (or the Axis grill and bonnet ornament).

Then just cut the "bling" parts out of the Axis front bar and mesh behind the new openings. Lots of air for coolers etc and no bling.

OR you could always just buy a Nismo front bar (I know you love 'em) and get a GOOD body shop to add some fibreglass to the sides so it lines up with your arches.

Thats my plan, and the same with a rear bar.. maybe later though?

Mate just a head's up.....both the dealer's you were looking are a bit how's it going. I have seen both those yards stock about three time's and I personally would give them a miss. In saying that get the inspections done by the NRMA or similar ......whatever you do don't rush the purchase even if they start pressuring you saying there are other people interested(there are plenty of other good ones out there!....not saying that the car you are looking at is no good....just saying that if there was a problem they would more than likely not tell you. On the other hand I have heard that Nagoya does look after warranty claim's during that period!

It's worth paying a little more for a good car just quietly.....I learnt the hard way!

I am gong to Nagoya tomorrow and miss a day from work just to check again then northshore - hopefully this time I am on the ball

I haven't heard anything good or bad about Northshore or Nagoya.

I got my car from Japlink motors, Very happy with the car and after sales service, I had one minor problem (O2 sensor died) replaced two days later and was given a car to drive for the day while they worked on the car.

I got northshore. Same thing o2 died and thy replaced. Also called up for info a few times and got help with stuff while I was learning. They got some nice cars. Also got some ce28's for free from northshore

Well I made my enquiries and it ends up the silver Sa based RS is the only M35 in SA and sold.

So now i have to either talk to Chef about importing one or go interstate.

If I can find a decent one interstate, and get it inspected, I will go down that route simply because its faster. If not Ill have to import one. Not thrilled about a 2+ month wait but I guess itll be worth it.

Unfortunately if she's had the KM's doctored in some way it's usually done before it hits the auction house and any log books it might have had mysteriously go missing. In this situation the papers will only show the false KM's from the auction.

One of the hardest things to do when you're a car nut is to buy with your head and not your heart.

This car may not be the righ one but there will be plenty more, don't rush it and you will enjoy the car for years to come.

My 2c anyway,

Jas

Most of the time its done here in Australia not overseas.

lol now thinking what wheels will suite an ARX

stock is 18 i wouldnt go any lower..

get something that will fit the brembo's or gtr brakes in there. trust me you'll want to get the brakes done.

i got 18's on mine, i think i would rather have something along the lines of 19-20 to fill the front guards. as the 18's look a little silly still. the rears are ok with 18. but you will obviously need the same size all round..

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
