Hey yeah, I got all my bits OK :) A bit delayed because of bushfires, but they're all good thanks!

RB25 to go in the 33 is good to go now, putting that in on Monday.

RB25\30, progress is good, gotta save up for the machine shop work, then just re assemble it with some new bearings and new rings.

RB30e got yanked out Monday night, it got dark before I could rip the sump off and change the oil pump gasket and sump gasket. I might do that on Thursday afternoon.

Mega Super ultra powerful monster RB25 is still in the research and development phase at the moment, but I'm thinking. JE pistons with ceramic tops and teflon skirts, Nitto rods, balanced crank, nitto collar, ACL bearings, 12mm head studs, Bore and Deck block to suit, Grout filled block, all them oil control mods, Aiming for around 9.8:1 Static CR, still not decided on that really, NEO head some crazy cams and springs, yet to be decided. Not sure what turbo either, Looking for around 450kw though running on E85

I'm really undecided about the whole mega RB25, Lots of people say different things about what's needed for big power, like RIPS motors are like, near stock and good for like 500hp, and their built ones are insanely powerful. Put you look at everyone in the 400kw club here on SAU and they've got lots of mods.

First TSS round is in Mid March, I might go out to a drift practice day to shake the car down though, or maybe sprints, depends on how I go for time and what's on when I suppose.

In a RWD platform you'd be crazy not to put a rb30 in. Extra torque for no extra cost in the build.

Just keep in mind that RIPS build and TUNE the motors that produce massive power. Although stock can produce great numbers, it's usually the oil issues that kill them.

Id only use a neo head if you were retaining VCT. Even then the available upgrade parts aren't as good and a 26 head would be easier.

RB26 doesn't have vct, it also means he'd have to bin the exhaust manifold as well as the intake, neo and 26 have solids but the neo has larger ports standard, neo head studs are the same size as a 30 bottom (RB26 are larger), you can get neo heads cheaper, easier and usually in better condition.

Its a pretty obvious choice, the only thing it doesn't get you is "RB26/30" as its name, which loses value regardless of performance :P.

Oh, it doesn't? Thanks for clearing that up. Mine does.

His intake won't fit either way. Head stud size doesn't matter.

Ports aren't bigger, they are shaped differently to previous 25's.

bigger is not always better when it comes to these heads.

The solid lifters are also not the same setup as rb26, with a shim on top of bucket.

He was talking about modifying cams etc. so the head wouldn't be taken off a wrecker motor and put on without first being checked. Then start getting upgrade parts for them....

Any RB head can run VCT, but 20's and 26's need the head modified to make it work.

Janges is right, bigger is not always better on the intake size. The correct size is always better.

Any reason you want to run a solid head? Brad has been reliably running 1000hp on a hydro head.

Is it still a hydro head though?

Neo heads will spit shims in high rpm and kw applications.

Yeah I've been lead to believe that brads new motor has a neo head. And shimless buckets.

There is no doubt a 26 can have vct, but I'm not interested in doing the required modifications when just slapping on a neo head is a Shit tonne easier. Also neo heads have a smaller combustion chamber which will give me my desired compression ratio with my current pistons.

Plus they're cheaper.

standard maybe, you were talking about cams and all sorts before though on a super build.

    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
