Guys,

what can I expect to pay for a 100,000km service on the R33 Gt-R - it hasn't had the belts replaced, and the normal service is due too.

Anybody has any idea?

Also - anybody recommending any good shops in Melbourne, preferable on the east, south-east side to do the work.

should be looking at about $1k for everything.

best thing would be to call up

since its a gtr and your melb, i'd reccomend racepace but most decent shops should be able to help

you out

would 1K be with the replacement of the water pump, or just oils, filters, timing belt?

Find what parts you need and do a bit of a dig around. Genuine RB26 water pumps for example can be bought for peanuts from the US. Same with most other parts.

Do this yourself and you'll save heaps just ask the shop of your choice what you need and go and get it.

Labour wise i would expect to pay around the $500 or so at most shops.

Thanks for this advice - I'm thinking along the same lines - damn, 1K or 1.5K - that's a lotsa a coin.

umm...not really...

Might be 1.5k if you don't have anything but drivetrain fluids to flush and replace and with engine oil change. Expect it to blow out exponentially if anything is wrong with the car. For example. Just had mine done and had to replace both o2 sensors (car was running very rich) and both rear brake pads. Parts alone for those 2 things added up to another 8-900 dollars. Plus more labour. Rb26 is a prick of a job from what I hear. 4wd fluid has to be changed. Transfer case fluid has to be changed. Hicas has to be checked... Etc. with the extra bits and bobs I actually had a good 2.5k ish to do that service. 1-1.5 is what I'd expect and have seen a normal 100 000 km service on a gtst cost. With nothin wrong with the car. It is expensive but well worth it.

kudos motorsport sells 100k service kits. I'd give them a call, andrew sullivan was a world of help for me.

ONLY GO TO A PERFORMANCE MECHANIC. And only one who has been recommended to you, or has a couple of gtr's sitting out front. Any old mechanic will say they can do the job, but you want it done right and you don't want to pay for them to learn.

I went to see a mechanic that usually works on the Porsches and Audi's - and had them do the job for me. They've done work on GT-R's before but they are not a PERFORMANCE shop as such. Then again, I had very famous performance shop suggest I use VMX80 in my tranny - so much for "performance" suggestions.

He got a whole kit for me, all brand new, timing belt, tensioner bearings, water pump, all the ancilliary belts, new battery and a coolant flush - all up just over 800.

800 for parts and labour? That's pretty amazing.

Point on mechanics is, plenty will say they can do the job, and have done the job, when that plainly isnt the case. There have been a lot of bad experiences documented on here

correct - parts and labour. So far so good ;)

I got a $700 quote for labour, though the mechanic didn't know what he was doing, it's easy to get ripped. That was when I terrifyingly realised I had no proof the 100k service was done, and was going to get it redone just in case. Luckily I found the sticker hidden away under the engine bay just in time to cancel the ordered parts.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
