Also no one else in perth has the english software to tune it

(i can get you the Japanese one no problem but then good luck trying to tune it),

so you will only be able to use Xspeed

Can you get english version of 3.1 PW?

You must be joking. On the CD's in Japan Yahoo auction you can get only 3.23en and 3.241en.

To have 3.1 in english you have to do it yourself and I have done it.

So your claim that no one oi perth has got it is false.

but can you tune the ecu?

my point is no other tuner in perth has the software + cable to do. so yes you may be able to get the software in english but without the cable it is useless.

its not impossible to get the software + cable and from what i have seen is not that pricey compare to the pfc dongle unit. However for some reason tuners here in perth (and also looks like australia wide) don't seem to want to tune them (not sure if it has something to do with hks and rumours that they only want hks dealers to tune their ecu)

From what I have seen, the software is Japanese for that version, not hard to tune if you are familiar with the menu structure... Not something a reputable tuner would go doing though.

I will only ever run an ecu that I can adjust, and anybody I choose, that's why the HKS is worth nothing here.

btw Ten Four buy the hks nav, just like the pfc h/c

edit: also give this website a read some good info regarding the f-con pro

Kaido, I have cable as well.

Yes, it is in Japanese but all 15 versions of HKS PW done in English as well, full 100% done.

Cable is not a problem to make it yourself.

Tuning? I know a few people who did it them-self without any problems.

In Uk and Russia so it can be done in Au as well.

Its so easy if you have software PW in English.

i am correct in saying the f-con is unlike the pfc were you need a dongle. the hks just uses a cable correct?

Correct, what you need is only cable and password which is 100% in the ECU from Japan, if want want to base on existing tune

and not the resetting to start fresh tune. We can read password remotly without sending the ECU to us.

Correct, they want only their authorised dealers to sell and tune the F-Con ECU's.

Would personally rip it out, screw only being able to take it to one tuner

previously ran the Fcon Pro in my 33. all i can say is that its an amazing piece of hardware. youre questioning its quality, but you dont seem to reason with why big workshops like Top Secret and HKS run them in there drag, demp and drift cars

yeah as the other have said the FCON is great

for a standard FCON install its a piggyback setup so you need to buy the FCON, the harness and then the navigator and its still connected in piggyback mode

this is why most go for the powerfc as its a simple plug and play, no extra controller, no harness needed

FCON in piggyback mode is fantastic for auto but very pricey vs nistune etc

for the FCON standalone the unit is more expensive, i think the loom harness is still needed and the navigator and the FCON pro vs FCON normal (piggyback one) is pricier

i would love one to try it out

32x32maps

afm or map

inputs from whatever you like

Turns out it was a FCON 3.0

$1600 tune ffs. So f**king poor now. (Thats cash too)

Car made 400rwhp at 20psi - unknown turbos.

Curious as to what the power and torque curves look like compared to my PFC tune on similar mods. Do you have pics of dyno sheet? ph34r.gif

why do you expect or believe the FCON would make more power?

i see no reason why the FCON would make more torque or more power (or less)

if both are tuned correctly you should get the same result

the main difference is how long it would take the tuner with both systems

I never said that.

I was merely complaining at cost of the tune.

Get to take it home tomorrow :)

Will post up then in the RB26 power section.

Would love Andy to tune it... but not happening anytime soon now lol. (HOPEFULLY)

Wondering if anyone here is running this?

I have one and because WA is ghey, only one place can tune it and I'm quoted $1500 - 8-9hrs dyno time =/

I'm in a pickle really, its booked in still to go ahead, but considering my options atm...

New Jetro is $2k + tune 500? + install ??

2nd hand non jetro = 1k? + 2 AFMs $500?? + tune 500? + install ??

Are the HKS F-CONs worth it? Just can't believe the cost to tune... There goes my next month and a halfs pay...

Hey brutha, saw your 32 in xspeed the other day when mine was on the dyno - love your plates and I'm glad you own a gun metal like me (although mine's a GTST).

They will absolutely rape you on tuning for anything other than Power FC dude. I asked about Haltech and HKS F Con Pro and well, lets just say Hanson said "if you don't use power FC you will be up for thousands. A full tune with a PFC is about $750 at X speed providing there aren't major issues to overcome.

Get a PFC dude - at least they still make em for the gtr. I have to suss mine secondhand...

Hai der. Collected it today :)

I've had good experience with PFCs mate but as said before, cost of tune < Power FC + tune...

    • I was using the wiring diagram I have So 12.74V is coming into the rear Fuel Pump relay as I measured.  When I turn the key to ON im getting 0.6V to the Fuel Pump plug; which i assume is backfeed voltage and doesnt include the 12V from ignition power.  The rear relay is working and being triggered.  From the diagram I clearly see the rear relay 80 = Rear Relay going into the Body/H loom (R-27) 27 = Fuel Pump plug going into the Body/H loom (T-20) 40 = Short Connector (R-27) I'm reading 12.74V on the blue/black wire which is the power for the Fuel Pump   From this diagram I can see the Ignition relay goes into the front and up to the ignition  2 = Fuel Pump Relay <1M> (R-27) 37 = ING Relay <1M> I started from the pump using this reference Which the way I read it (referencing Nissan wiring color codes) is: Pin Wire Color Function 1 B/P (Black/Pink) Ground 2 L/W (Blue/White)        ECU Trigger 3 SB (Sky Blue) Fuel Pump 5 L/B (Blue/Black) 12V Constant Tested SB to SB on Fuel Pump for continuity - confirmed Tested negative on Fuel Pump to 12V battery and L/B - confirmed 12V Pulled the relay putting 12V between Pin 1 & 2 and testing continuity on Pin 3 & 4 - confirmed relay   So that has me looking at this part of the circuit to understand whats happening here...and im still confused. From best I can tell; the disconnect is back to my previous diagram; between Ignition Relay and Fuel Pump Relay...which yet again; afaik is where the immobiliser should.    Thats what I was trying to explain to GTSboy; im not trying to fix it myself; yet I seem to have to get a Masters in Electrical Engineering (while im busy doing my actual job of DevOps & Cloud Engineering) somehow.  I just wanted more expert opinions; or more so that what I tested is correct and proves it to something around that area; to go back to the alarm tech (for a 3rd time) that he needs to fix it. He keeps telling me its not the alarm. He lives on the complete other side of the city so i understand not wanting to make a trip but as I said before if its the alarm it should be up to him to fix it. But he's adament its not; even though I pointed out the FP was immobilised through the original alarm. To my mind; it seems that the ECU is sending the signal; but the ignition is not getting 12V down the line.
    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
