M35 Translated Manual

Does anyone know if the translated manual has details like all the wiring diagrams, wire colours, plugs etc? Thinking of having a play with the stereo side of things in my car....

Ryan, I'm flattered you thought I could help ;) . I've been chatting with Andy about speed signals and stereo problems recently.

I think it is the latter that he was hoping he could get more info about by finding the right manual.

I'm pretty sure he's looked at the Japanese and Infinity manuals & still has some questions, but that was where I would have sent him anyway.

Yes I have the japanese manual for the m35 and the english manuals for the g35... but wiring colours and plugs are different between the two. I've been chasing the speed sensor wire for a while and in the G35 it's white with a green tracer at certain points- for example at pin 17 in the top dash display unit. We don't have a wire going to pin 17 on our cars....

The only way to go is an english conversion of the m35 manuals, but I don't really want to fork out the money if it's not detailed- the AV section alone of the jap manual is large with all the diagnostics, which would be handy.

Hi Andy, you may just have mistyped the pin number above, but in the DI (Driver Information System) manual for the G35 on page DI-14, it says at the back of the combination meter (dash) the terminal number 19 is the "Vehicle speed signal (2-pulse)". Is there a wire at that terminal?

I was looking at this last night, but thought there had to be a better place to pick it up from. What happen to the brown connector? No luck there?

Sorry, should have clarified more. The speed signal goes to many places in the g35, one of which is the top a/c display in the middle of the dash. This is the easiest place to get at it if it doesn't appear to be working at the brown plug under the steering wheel (like mine). I really need to chuck a scope on the thing to see if the signal is there or not but am scope-less at the moment. The g35 manual describes a white/green wire at the a/c display and on our cars it's not at that pin. There is a white/green wire there but I'm not willing to take the risk until I've checked it properly.

Going back to the original question of the post- has the m35 manual actually been translated by jpnz? I'm sure I saw it for sale somewhere but on the jpnz site it isn't.

wow awsome has any one actually seen this??? is it good???

ive been going threw the jap manual in pdf format copying the text pasting it on a web site that converts it, it works but is just a pain in the ass,

I should have known you'd be all over this. I didn't see that it also appeared above the AC. That's an easier place to find it than behind actual dash display. I've got a speedo correction device I've been meaning to fit. I'll see if I can find a wire that works & let you know.

I wonder if you get the full manuals translated for your ~$140 (there's an awful lot of them for the M35) or a cut down version?

Shaun, I too had started doing this & I agree, what a pain. It's better than nothing I guess but I think I'd rather buy the manual, if it's any good.

I think I might get one ,

Considering want to add speed correct , get the cruise control working

And put in a 2 way alarm with remote start and window up

Plus would be good for future incase mechanical issues ,or such things,

Yeah, I bought a heap of their kits a while back as I think they're (mostly) great value & I love DIY :)

I'll let you know how it goes if I can get time to put it in.

Yes I've had a few off there kits, had the electronic boost controller , air fuel controller and the hand controller in my old car didn't get it working but I just gave up to quick , now I got a lil more knowledge I think it would be easier ,

      I've been reading a lot lately about unsprung weight and how beneficial it can be to reduce it for driving on the track, given my semi's only have another day or two in them I am throwing around the idea of some lighter wheels and a square set up. I have 265/35/19's and 245/40(?)/19 Federal 595's at the moment. The wheels and tyres are super heavy. I looked up my wheel weight online and got 14.5kg naked. Not sure if this was 8.5 (front) or 9 (rear) but that's a lot. I have also been reading about the benefits of a square setup. Much better rotation and potentially less understeer.  When I throw these together I'm thinking about a 17x9 or 18x9 square (preferably under 10kgs per wheel) with 245 or 255's. I can get some cheap 17x8.5 BMW M Sport wheels, they weight 10.5 kg's each but at 8.5 wide could probably only get 245's on them? I know they come with 255's from factory but semi's are a bit chunkier. Otherwise it will be aftermarket wheels in a 9" width. Most of the other BMW wheels are heavy unless you pay a squillion dollars for some M wheels.  Although, the E46 M3 Style 67's could be good but I'd have to buy 2 sets to square them up.  My car has a tickle over 400hp and about to put an LSD in also, is 245 a little thin for a square setup? It kinda feels that way to me. Also, is there any tangible benefit to having 18's over 17's? Is the footprint demonstrably bigger? From those of you who went to light(er) wheels after heavy buggers, did you notice it much?

      Start with the R32 GTR wiring diagram. The ECU is essentially the same, so the pinouts are good. The details around ECCS relays, etc might differ a little bit, but the reality is that you need to get ignition power to kick the ECU so it powers up the ECCS relay which brings the rest of the ECU up. This also gives power to the other circuits that are needed to make the engine run, like the ignition coils, etc. All of this is visible on the R32 diagram and should give you a strong guide, even if it's not quite the same as the R33. As to specifics - I'm pretty sure no-one can help you from afar, as there is no way to know what mistake or omission has been made in connecting stuff up. It always turns out to be "LOL, I shorted something and an entire wire vanished out of the loom", or "We never connected X or Y main connector", or "shit, you mean I need to have that fuse installed?".

      hello wanted some insight on what my problem could be so i swapped a RB26DETT into my r33 gtst used a R33 GTR engine harness and im using a haltech platinum pro. The car cranks but no start the ecu isn’t getting any power now im trying to find out why i cant seem to find any schematics  or diagram for the engine harness for the r33 gtr anything helps thank you.

      hahahaa @GTSBoy that is my last resort. Like use a cardboard and cut it using the indicator as a reference. But I was winging my luck to see anyone had a spare bumper because drawing the outline off the hole is always easier and less chance of mucking it up
