Such a shame; always liked the people there, and the knowledge and competence of the service dept was excellent. Hope they can consolidate and get back up and running with stronger "operations".

Also sucks for the people with orders outstanding.

Got my order that I ordered on Jan 18.. today (original eta was 5 days)

There's also the small problem of half the order missing, and no invoice. 'tis good. But they did send me an email about it, so, I suppose all is not entirely lost for those in a similar situation.

i just recently got my order, over a month after the E.T.A., they said that the previous posting of the goods was sent back twice but i think thats crap as two days after i threatened consumer affairs and legal acction my goods arrived express posted

Jim and Tony at Tunehouse are top guys, great and easy to deal with.. They have had an area in the traders on SAU for a while but nothing has come of it it seems.. I've brought my car there a few times and they've been great! Their dyno room resembles a medical theater!

Another thumbs up here for Tunehouse. Love the tune they did for my car with Power FC. No huge plumes of black smoke like some FC equiped cars seem to love, great fuel economy, smooth running and problem free since it was tuned about 1 year ago now.

Oh, and once again, Powerplay are not out of business technically. They are still doing car servicing, fitting parts etc. They are also apparently ordering parts online when requested. They have closed the shop front and will no longer be stocking parts...

HOWEVER! Trying to get responses from them is VERY difficult. So unless you are extremely patient like me, then I honestly can't recommend them.

I only continue to go back to them because Alistair has always looked after all of my cars exceptionally well. He is truly passionate about his work, and has great attention to detail for even little things that needed fixing that you may not even have noticed.

ok i like the sound of this tunerhouse, did check the website out and googled the location, its only a short bus trip away so as much as i love the guys at F&E mechanics out in Wetherill Park they are just too far away :(

They mention being 'good value' on the website but the place looks far too shmick to be much of a bargain. I know that Bel garage in Rockdale charge and arm and a leg while also being good. Is it a case of if you want peace of mind then you just have to bite the bullet and be prepared to shell out the big bucks?

Yeah they're not amazingly cheap or anything but I guess in the end you generally get what you pay for, and any time my car has ever been there I've been kept well up-to-date with any issues and costs that arise before anything is done about them.. (though this only stands out to me after a previous bad non-skyline non-Tunehouse related incident a few years ago thumbsup.gif)

I've also taken my cars to Tony and Jim at Tunehouse and been very happy. As Eiresgaus said they're not the cheapest, but I'd rather pay a bit more for people that provide good customer service and know what they're doing, than the alternative.

Haven't had a tune there, but my GTR is one of few that has an HKS FConPro V and they are a licensed HKS reseller and tuner, one of the few places in the country who can tune these apparently.

They were working on one of the Z tunes [Z TUNED] a while back.

    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
