I know boss its getting all crunched up at the moment an producing a lovely amount of axel trans? I think that's what it's called

Tramp, well thats what i know it as. The biggest thing it affects is the bump stear which will make the car very unpredictable. again your choice but i ran mine at optimal height and never had the thing do anything unexpected.

Keep it low and once its out of your system you will see the difference.

pushrod v8.. you know you want one

i changed to an east/west 6 cycl na all wheel drive and couldnt be happier. nothing wrong with a v8 (had a calais once) but just dont like the aust cars. Would consider one of the new ford supercharged v8 things (GS?) but thats just because its go silly power from fact and with little to no help gets tons more.

Yeah I have to take the coilovers out to get the yellow of so I will definitely be raising it up. Will also make it easier on changing wheels up at the track so I don't have to cart pine blocks around with me :)

I've got a bit of axle tramp when dropping the clutch in the wet at low rpm, once she's running again I need to get a pro to have a look.

Got my freshly machined crank, bearings, Reimax oil pump gears, new timing belt and oil pump gasket ready to go, just waiting on access to the workshop!

I like budget. It is my favourite. I went up to the track and one of the trainers was like you need this this this and this and then he was like it's only gonna cost $1200. That is like my yearly centrelink salary :\

centrelink blow big chunks. We applied to have rent assistance (along with other stuff when i lost my job) and we were only going to get 10% of the rent back!!!! so out of $200 a week they said it was fair to get $20 extra. no wonder people cant afford to buy food each week.

on topic,

what did they tell you to get griff? did you find a r32 mani?

Steering rack spacers, rear camber arms, castor rods, those solid bushes for the rear subframe and something that adjusts toe? I can't quite remember exactly what it was :)

I just ended up doing a botch job on the mani and drilling out one of the holes so it would fit on nice and snug.

Wasn't really to worried about it because as soon as the yellow comes off the mani with the gate flange will be going back on.

you can get adj. bushes instead of complete arms. they should do you till you get better and will cost less. i would suggest caster rods but again the bushes are fine everthing else is nice but not essentual till later.

cool as long as it works till then you are laughing.

Yeah I'm thinking about just saving the money and getting arms so in the long run its cheaper but I have to get it back over the pits first hahadomokun.gif

I'm not having to much trouble with it at the moment but I just want more lock and a bit more traction whistling.gif

MOAR TRACTION?

Rebuilt the bottom end on the weekend and drop the engine back in the car, now to hook back up all the wiring and piping.. if the weather holds off and nothing else pops up, should be driving by the weekend

Yeah I need to start thinking about building up more speed and a bit quicker so I can get longer slides happening :P

Keen for a noob to come down watch you doing the wiring?

If you want to come learn some stuff and lend moral support, I'll be trying to spend a couple of hours each night after work on it

Sounds good to me :)

You still have my number from way back? Probably lost in your PM's due to the fact that you are a mod and receive all kinds of important things these days domokun.gif

Glad to hear it's coming along Bubba. I've cleaned my garage out and moved stuff i wanted to keep into the shed, threw out 2 trailer loads of "crap" just gota put the wheels on the car and move her into the shed to start playing

Cheers mate! Bet you'll be happy to start tinkering on the old girl again :P

I'm itching to go home and work on mine.. stupid day jobs :( Also need a 26 p/s pump bracket otherwise I'll be getting a massive workout driving around town  stupid ATI balancers

Yeah its been sitting there way too long, missus is starting to push me a bit more which will help. Bart had a 26 sitting down here, he might be able to help out with that bracket

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
