Nice one chris but get that bumper painted! :P

yeah, will get onto it when more pressing issues like coolant leaks are all fixed, chasing my tail with the plethora of heater hoses under the inlet manifold, fix one then another leaks, time to order a silicon kit & replace the lot i think

Hey guys hoping for a bit of a thread revival, as its good to just have a flick through and see whats arround. Anyone picked up a new car (R32 obviously) or major mods or changes to you current car?

Picked my new beasty up on Monday evening smile.gif

Fairly sure i saw you down at the Plex a few wednesday nights ago? possibly on the 11th?

Well heres a few pics of my Shitter, slowly coming along droped the motor in to see how much room i have to play with etc, plenum fouls on the clutch master cylinder :( so im not sure if i can find a more compact master cyl or modify plenum (dont want to) if anybody has fitted a plasmaman plenum on a neo in a 32 and has any advise feel free to shout out :)

Obviously a long way to go, will require custom pipework etc, but its a good feeling seeing the engine sitting in the car. rather than an empty shell collecting dust in the shed.

I have a 25 in my garage collecting dust at the moment because I'm still waiting on a gearbox. Mostly due to me being lazy and only just going out and getting a proper job but there is literally none around for sale. And when there was I had no money because I was to busy smoking ciggies and drinking export (yes I realise it's cheap but there is only so much you can buy on a centrelink budget)

Dont get into this section much, but since I'm having trouble making decisions i shall ask for some advice.

So basically I've decided instead of buying another car I'm going to build my street 32 up, but....

I'm torn between the idea of a 30/25 or just a 25.

I'll have anywhere up to 10k to spend on the project and I'm aiming for around 400hp.

I basically need reasons why or why not for either of the engine options.

Any help would be great guys!

Personaly id go back to a std one however you could remove the booster or get a pedal box. Both of these options will make it feel harder to brake and are not best for a street car but are do-able

Bit of an update. Goes way quicker than before. motor.jpg

Man thats taking weight reduction to the extreem!

Cheers for the reply though a bit late haha, It was the clutch master that was the problem not brake, ended up going and getting and R33 clutch master off mayhem (always helpfull) and that basicly sits an inch further into the firewall giving me an extra inch of clearance for the plenum.

lol sorry read it as brake not clutch *facepalm*

You should see how fast I can push it now. I'm a serious contender for the Stawell Gift next year.

Oh and it is extreme by the way :)

extreme to the max???

Good to see some 32's getting some work done to them, don't see many down here anymore. Did spot a 32GTR chasing a S15 yesterday though.

Mine on the other hand is moving slowly, Work is way to busy to make any progress on her

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
