Get a replacement or better after market fuel filter

Locate fuel filter (I don't have an R32, but I think it is in the back under the trunk?)

Unplug fuel pump fuse

Start car, let die :O

Try to start car again to be sure there is no left over pressure in fuel line

Pull out old fuel filter

Enjoy getting high from fuel

Put in new fuel filter

Return fuel pump fuse

Start car, let idle

Done

Sorry to dig up this old thread but didn't think it worthwhile starting a new one with the same topic.

Would someone be able to tell what size fuel hose to buy, I'm about to change my filter and want some spare fuel line on hand in case the original stuff is damaged when I remove the old one, probaly a good idea to have a couple of new clamps too.

Regards

Mike.

Got the filter from Nissan Coopers Plains for $33 though they tried to charge me $39 apparently the price changes from when you ring for availability to when drive there to get it.

Also the Repco man tried to talk me into $28 per meter high pressure line, though I walked out with the standard 5/16th, stuff for $6.

but you do need the high pressure EFI fuel line dont you???

I know thats what I use...

To be honest I don't know, but the line I had to cut off looked to be original and of the same spec as the cheaper line I bought. Would be good if someone in the know can confirm.

Id get EFI line. Peace of mind is better then saving a few dollars

Very true, I did a little research on the line I bought and it seems to have a working pressure of 50 psi, might try and source some 150 psi stuff. I don't want to start any fires in my engine bay, or anywhere else for that matter.

That line you got is used mainly for carby engines, it can blow out/split if used on EFI applications. Also, you can use a z200 fuel filter, its alot cheaper than the one earlier posts have gotten

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
