Hey Guys,

Seeing as the last track day was a raging success I was thinking we should do it again.

I've added a poll to ask what track you think we should go to. I'm still in favour of Baskerville because it's closer to home and there is less things to run in to.

June 12th seems like a good day for it too. Both tracks are free from what I can see.

Cheers,

Cheers,

this is a disolution the same as the drift guys. Symmons actualy has better run offs and the sand traps actualy stop cars. its been a while since a car has made as big a mess of itself as the Shaw s13 recently. Not having a go but just taking the bad omen off the track.

i want to do symmons one day this year...BUT..atm my car is not up for the high speed nature of it yet.. need to fix the gremlins before risking the long trip.

ive driven both tracks now and the speed is very similar. the back straight of barsky for me was 190 ish which is very similar to symmons depending on wind.

the long trip is another aspect. you guys could hire a room at cosy cabbins. cheap as chips.

ive only recently driven Barsky in lap mode and i can say its a far more exciting track for the driver. there is more to be gained/ learnt as an amature/ enthusist.

im very keen to bring my car back and try again.

its just a pitty that the track has a rubbish surface and that its subject to changing weather conditions every 5 mins.

+1 for barsky

Well that's a load off, I'm already peeing my pants about drifting there.

just had a look at cams calendar and june 11th is drift prac day at symmons. not sure if this will afect any of you guys but thought id mention it.

i will definatly be out if it is june 12th. that said dont arange it around me.

I might consider a go at baskerville if I get car running nice for this one. Seems baskerville got plenty of run off room for me to learn to use this thing called boost lol.

Need to get new coilpacks and possibly exhaust gasket and evaluate performance first though.

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
