I have a strange feeling 90% of the gains will be from the driver though, might chase you around a bit on the day and see if I can learn some more mad skillz.

I'll sit in for a few laps, be warned, there is going to be a lot of yelling.

i'd highly suggest a practice day before getting into competition too much , going fast around a track can be different to on the road . perhaps a sua track day should be organised?? i'd be keen to go out n have a bash and offer pointers to anyone who is looking for some :)

You said this ages ago, and it was the first suggestion of a SAU track day, but I'm checking in your other suggestion to offer pointers to anyone who is looking for some (e.g. me, and I'm sure a heap of other people out there). Would be good to see you out there mate :)

I'm hoping to make it for my first bash on a circuit, new exhaust housing should be here tomorrow and hopefully my nistune the day after that :) Bought some 17s with RE55 semi slicks that clear my brakes by about 0.5mm with spacers, so im all but set to go :nyaanyaa:

There is going to be subaru's there? i'm yet to meet a subaru driver who isn't a complete twat. I'm sure there out they, they must keep a low profile though.

Yeah, I'm not a complete twat... I suppose the skyline cancels it out a little.

Judging by the interest on Rexnet, I'm thinging 4 Subies will show up.

Haha, I'm counting on this rear wing for some epic downforce! or... maybe... perhaps that's unlikely? :P

Hopefully these new sways give me some more stability through the corners, and may actually play with the boost controller to coax out a couple more killerwasps from the engine on the day. Definitely up for some tips guys, looking forward to cutting down some times and taking on some knowledge. I'm sure a heap of other guys out there will want some tips to get them around the track faster with the same hardware thumbsup.gif

what time should i try to be there? probably gonna have to leave pretty early, travelling from launceston..

Last time we had people turning up between 9-11am, everyone had a fairly good run on the track after then and it should give you a heap of time to head down :) I reckon I'll be getting there at ~9:30ish on the day so I can squeeze a few laps in early. Not sure on the proper weather forecast for Sunday yet, but if there's the chance it's going to drizzle in the afternoon I'm getting as much dry track time as possible.

I'll be getting there at like 9 so don't get up too early, last time we packed up around 3, but I reckon I'll be going till the sun goes down nyaanyaa.gif

I've put a passenger seat and seat belt in just for you ;)

can anyone tell me how i will go with 215/17 inch RE55 semislicks all round? they are a bit old, just a bit worried they may not grip up too well, i have some 245/18 RE55s i can take to put on the rear, but nothing else other than street tires for the front pinch.gif

    • This morning I carefully reinstalled the manifold and started looking at a couple of things I need to do.  Heat wrap arrived sometime today so I popped into the shed with the missus dishwashing gloves and started wrapping the first half of the dump and the screamer/plumb back.  Once I do the second half I'll be able to final fit the turbo and exhaust up.  Also pulled the harness out today and started terminating it at the ECU end. A connector is done, just need to run the remaining wires that arent in the harness - 12v, gnd and couple I/O
    • A31 is pretty much the same thing without HiAIDS I mean CAS, no improvement lol. Not to late to send it.
    • Thanks for all the replies! I also wanted to ask if wheels that were fitted on Ford Falcons would fit the 350GTs as well? In the area I'm at there aren't that many options for secondhand wheels and new ones here are way out of my budget. From what I've seen, most of the wheels that are available that were fitted on Ford Falcons have an offset of +33 to +36, with a centre bore of 70.5mm whereas the stock 350GT's ones are 66mm, can't seem to find any hubcentric rings that fit that difference though.
    • 215/45/18 tyres are probably a little on the low side compared to the factory tyre, it should be closer to a 245/45/19, which will get you about an extra 11mm of height, and should make you speedo read a bit closer to reality. 245/45/19s will be a bit too far the other way and you risk a speeding ticket as your speedo might read slower than your actual speed.  245/40/19s would be correct if you are going to 19in rims, they will give you a similar total diameter to the 245/45/18 tyres.
    • That's something I forgot to put in my list. The aggressive anti-squat in R32 is a f**king menace. I still need to decide if I'm going to drag the subframe out of my car and weld in the GKTech corrector kit. The main reason to dither is the need to switch to spherical joints in the lower arm to account for the twist induced in the rear pivot caused by lowering the front pivot. And yes...we do put better subframes in R32s, and I wish I'd gotten an S14 one instead of an A31 when I did the "take off and nuke it from orbit" HICAS delete all those years ago.
