Hi Guys! (I can say that because I'm the only female and I'm typing this!! For the second time, it dissappeared the first time :) )

Adrian (aka Strutto or Hero) and I were talking tonight and decided that it was time for another super dooper saturday night skyline cruise!

James (Belgarion) and I organised a huge skyline cruise last year and we ended up having 30+ skylines attend. We didn't expect this many people and unfortunately had nothing planned after the cruise to the BWCP and people dissappeared because they were bored. The site along the M1 of all the dinner plates looked absolutely awesome.

So this time, we are going to do the normal drive to the BWCP and then move onto another destination (to be disclosed on the night) for some more super dooper happy fun.

The details are as follows.

  • Date: 17th April 2004 (Weekend after the Easter long weekend)
  • Time: 7:00pm Meet, 7:30pm departure
  • Place: Springwood Mall, Cnr Fitzgerald Avenue and Rochedale Road (next Red Rooster)
  • Destination: Broadwater Carpark (off the Gold Coast Highway, opposite Australia Fair). Once we've sat at the BWCP for a few hours or so (when people start to get bored) we will head off to another undisclosed location. Everyone who wishes to continue on from the BWCP will be told on the night (will also be located on the information sheets that we will hand out (does someone want to offer to print this out and bring them on the night? I don't have a printer))
  • Conditions: No stupid, wreckless or arrogant driving will be tolerated on the night. I don't care how awesome you think you can drive, but this cruise is neither the time nor the place to try and prove it. This behaviour will not be tolerated and if you think you can't abide by the above rules, don't even bother turning up.
CB's (UHF's) will be a necessity and can be picked up fairly cheaply from many different shops. The channel that we will use, will be provided on the night.

I will keep an updated list of the people intending to participate in this cruise. If you have any further queries, please pm me and I'll be sure to reply (I'm only on the net weeknights so please be patient for replies). I'm sure Adrian will also be able to answer any queries.

Maybe we could even line this up with the official launching of the SAu Qld sector club? Slip? Gary? What are the timelines your looking at?

hey there. I havent been on a skyline cruise yet, but very keen on this one .... just needa check up on my uni scheduale. I can get free black and white printing

cant do colour sorry. But yeah I'll be more then happy to do the printing.

i will be there ... however from my experience in cruse organising, especially night crawls (ive organised 80+ cars ones back home)

shit normally falls apart if something is to be decided on the night, i understand locations should not be posted due to police presance on the website, however, could we please have some indication of where we are going after the broadwater please?

YAY for NismoGirl and your local Hero!!!

Lets make this one huge guys... There's plenty of notice so I expect everyone to be there. ;) I for one, can't wait to see 30+ Skylines together on the M1 as well as at BWCP... Lets show them what we're made of!

Regular cruisers have been to the destination before... That should give you some hints... I'll have some maps with directions available on the night... Brush up on your navigation skills people!!!

I might even bring the Missus and kids along. ;) A babysitting roster will be distributed before hand... :)

But seriously, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact either Erin or myself and we'll endeavour to help you out...

Signed,

Your Hero...

Will try my best to be there , that's if the line in out of the shop by then ( jaqule's fingers crossed ) if the line in not ready may just go to the BWCP to check it all out but not go on the crooz as I will be in my girl's little lancer . Nodout it will be a great night and yeah would be great to kick start the Qld SAU club on the same day . Keep the "club update" posted with any new details please .

    • Yeah, so widen your search to any Nissan speedo first, then go wider if needed. I will say though, that there is a better than even chance that what I said first will likely come into play. They quite possibly won't come apart without damage. I tried to disassemble a stepper gauge that I wanted to repair. There was no way that needle was coming off the spindle, and I could not see how the spindle would come out of the mechanism behind. Assembled once, never to be disassembled, was my conclusion. Could be the same on the R34 cluster. Failing that - take the cluster to a workshop that specialises in automotive instrument work. There's usually at least one in every Australian city. They'll either be able to do it for you for small cost, or tell you it can't be done. It might be that "it can't be done" unless you follow some arcane procedure, including trickiness to glue it back together or something, that only experienced techs know.
    • Well, given that I, an engineer, almost never bring out the torque wrench to tighten up chassis bolts, despite fully knowing the theory, and instead rely on feel, which I happen to know is exactly how the majority of mechanics do things, should tell you the level of actual peril that exists from not achieving exactly 88 Nm of torque. How about if I just say then that 88Nm is at the lower end of the correct wheel nut torque range? Everyone knows how to tighten a wheel nut, right? And almost no-one ever brings out the torque wrench for that task
    • Don't be ridiculous. "2-3 ugga duggas or one Oof. You have to use Oof on tie rods because you can't get an ugga dugga on there." Is not helping the guy at all.
    • I have done a lot of research before posting here and on gtruk forum. couldn't find anything. I have my gauges all part except the needle itself. the needle has a extremely small hole in the center, but the shaft going to the needle is extremely small and appears to have nothing to index it either. doesn't seem strong enough to simple pry or pull without damaging something. Already tried the old spoon trick on a extra triple meter I have from a gtt, but no luck. the center cap comes off easily but the hole in the meter face plate aren't big enough to get over the needle itself. figured this would be my best place to find someone who might have actually removed theirs. wonder if there is some type of small pin press tool to push the pin in while pulling the needle base off.
    • Ok...its taking me long enough to finally do this.  Feck financial security...heart disease will get me soon enough anyway So welcome to the garage..."Clem" Belsil80 has been running a 370Z in Super TT series. So after entering with him in last years Winton 300 i figured I  need my own car. Seems SAU Vic race cars need to be yellow....{tick} Reckon with enough motor i will be able to make up for the lack of talent and stay ahead of the 370Z... but the LS powered S13 and E36s are a ways up the road Aim is to have a car that doesnt stop or turn but has a bit of shed built motor with jam...maybe some cream  First step is getting this ex drift car log booked I am keeping faithful silver car. As the road-club car gets upgrades the race car wil get the sloppy seconds
