If you can't afford insurance, you can't afford the car IMO. Police should be pulling over tow trucks at night time...running checks on the cars to make sure the towie has the keys etc.

Car found, being chased by chopper. He rammed a police van so they will definitely want him now. I was driving around in the mrs line trying to find him and got pulled over by 3 cops. Hopefully they get him before he writes my car off.

I actually found out who he is and his addy. If your in the west don't drive your line tonight

Also I agree with tge whole can't afford insurance can't afford the car thing, but I've owned the car for 3 years no problems, just in the last 2 months have been a bit poor until work picks up

so thats why the cops were out! there was a cop driving slowly on sunshine ave shining his torch into the back of peoples houses. another cop car on my street (lady nelson way), he pulled out of my drive way as i was approaching so got me suss so i kept driving behind the cop to see what the cops were up to and then i saw cops with sniffer dogs two doors down from my house.

someone i know said they got pulled over by the cops and were asked if they saw a white skyline. they said no, but they saw it fying by with no lights on not long before they were asked. sniffer dogs wouldnt do much in getting a car. im assuming that they located the car and the guy has started hiding/running or he did something else than ramming a police can. i just find it hard to believe that they managed to loose him, especially if he rammed a cop car.

anyway, hope they find your car, if you wanna 'work some things out' with the guy, im sure there are a few people here that would be willing to come down n give you a hand. out of curiosity, why did the police tell you who he is / where he lives. do you know the guy?

Cops didn't tell me who he was I figured it out by myself, asking mates etc. dick heads like that always open their mouth. Anyway he got away but they know who he is too, have his prints etc.

My info was a bit wrong. The guy who lives near me spotted out the car to his mate who lives in keilor downs stole it but they were in it together.

Chick at my mums work is married to a detective at sunshine apparently and my car has a fair bit of damage apparently. Haven't got an official call from the police yet, but I'll have a shower and breakfast then give them a call. Hopefully it's not too badly damaged

    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
