.82 rear or .64? I've got the .64 making 240rwkw at 20psi dropping off to 16psi (small wastegate). If you have .82 is there much lag? would be keen to see power graphs as thinking of changing rear housings on mine.

Hey Ryan, it's a mate's car, looked like a .6 rear to me. It's coming back for a tickle once we fit a better dump and 19 psi actuator, ill let you know how we go.

E-flex is available at Caltex on O'connel st, North Adelaide. I grabbed a few L into my jerry can for some testing. Using this method I calculated it to be ~72% ethanol, or ~E72.. My crude test lines roughly up with Caltex's claims of being E70 atm.

Tempted to test it in my car, but since my T518z is maxed out, I don't think I'll be netting a power increase of any more than 5%. Well, only one way to find out!

Its interesting reading peoples opionions on it.

Some real haters to real lovers.

No one is imbetween, u love it or hate it.

Still considering throwing some large injectors and bigger fuel pump in the evo and giving it a crack.

Needing to find places close to me that sells the stuff tho.

Has anyone heard if it will become more and more comman, soon??

one of my mates was saying that 91 fuel is meant to be no longer going to be sold at servo's in aus. the cut of date is meant to be some time this year. tho after a quick google con't find anything on it. it's supposidly meant to be replace by ethonal based fuels.

this is only what I have heard so it could be BS but some of the new commys are coming out ethol ready or something i'm really not sure.

anyone else heard similar?

I use eflex in our car and although the dyno said the car made less the black top said it makes quite a bit more. The car has gone from running consistant 125mph quarter mile passes to consistant 135+mph passes with just the fuel change. We didnt bother putting more boost into it as it wouldnt stay in the dyno so we just left it where it was :D My seat of the pants dyno also tells me that the car is much nicer to drive at any point in the RPM range

I would recomend it to everyone thats for sure.

heard a runour from a mate that 91 octane will no longer be sold at pertol stations as of some time this year? anyone confirm?

supposidly going to be replaced by ethonal based/blended petrol, but again just wht i have heard.

hopefully this means most petrol stations will start to have e85 or at least e70

Real lovers = people who have used the stuff

Real haters = people who have not

That's the way it comes across anyway.

^^ Yer without sounding like a dick or starting arguments, thats what i to have come across.

A concern of mine is that it hasnt been used for say 5 years yet. To get that long term issues etc. As i expect to keep my evo for awhile

well i have used it for abit and im very happy with it.

cant push aside the fact it gives engine protection. and when ppl start pumping boost into engines you wouldnt mind the extra safety..

heck look at simon, he has run ~350rwkw on a STOCK bottom end for AGES and that thing has seen a hard life. i put it down to e85!

Your not wrong.

I like driving my E-Flex rb20 just as much as driving my 300kw 98 powerd rb26, the rb20 smokes 3rd the whole way down the start-finish straight at lala :D

a quick search on the caltex site lists these as selling e flex, with more to come by october. interestingly, GM state that over 50 % of their cars sold in Aus will be ethanol based by 2012 end

Even 100RON E10 seems to have much better drivability than 98. It was very noticeable in my R33.

Definitely, but United have had supply issues apparently and have dropped it. They're expecting to have it out again soon though.

What is required as a minimum to try eflex? If there's a servo in North Adelaide I might give it a go, but I was of the understanding I'd have to do injectors/fuel pump/tune?

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
