haha yeah i was a little worried about that, he said the car was slipping off the dyno but he had no one to help keep it down.

Interesting. What tyres are you using? Shouldn't be slipping when its only making 270 odd rwkw.

Dunlop 18s, but i did recently put stock suspension in and the shocks arent in the best condition. He assured me it is nothing to do with the tune as the afr and boost graphs are fine. im putting the coilovers back in after this weekend then ill get a power run and see how it goes, or ill be at the dyno day if that is still happening, interested to see what i make on a mainline.

200... I hope there was some sarcasim in that, Im sure the figure wont drop 70kw. Either way im happy with the increase in power and how the car runs from changing to E85. I know how good Willall have proven to be but at the moment i am happy to take my car to Boost Worx.

Jet's F6 went from about 420rwkw on a DD to around 360 on a mainline

I went from 270rwkw on DD to 250rwkw on a mainline. There is definately a discrepancy - that said, do the ramp rates even correlate between the two brands?

Just got my car back from BoostWorx, Made a 30kw and 50nm gain.

When does it get full boost in 4th? I have an AX53B70, full boost is at 3400rpm in 4th (no brake tricks, not up hill). Yours looks a touch higher from the dyno - but it's the road that matters.

When mine came off the dyno it took until ~3800rpm in the road to hit 15psi. I richened mine up a touch (about 5%) in the mid-range on the road and it helped ALOT with 3000-4000rpm. (98 octane).

hey guys first things first 30rwkw is on the money for a e85 changeover congrats on doing it bud its great fuel and works wonders for $ to rwkw

but no real reason why a car is allover the place on a dyno, the setting up and strapping down part is just as important as the tune imho not just for safety but for a honest as possiable result on ur progress.

now the dyno debate is a killer dont try to work it out it just is what it is .....farked lol but i will say this there are many workshops in s.a that know what there doing and then others that dont have a bloody clue. this is where willall get big props they are very particular on the strapping down process and there mainline dyno ..............ill say this very honestly ..............seems to be bang on the money for rwkw vs mph not everyone likes to used the same workshop as others and so on but r33 a mate has was tuned on e85 at willall eflex of all crap and came out with 240rwkw on 98 then a direct 270rwkw after the e85 tune, so ur seeing what u should be

yes pete the willall dyno makes the men stand up lol but had a fair idea the first d/d was down hill,

just for a larf we seem a bf f6 typhoon do 275 on one dyno then coupla hrs later 360rwkw on another .....................boggles the mind

but just remember we have a strip now so no guess work, mph is a true reflection for power.................get to the strip lads

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
