About time we got some AMS Alpha 12 action Down Under.

I was originally looking at the Alpha 10 kit but in the end the lure of 1,300 odd horsepower kept calling. I pulled the trigger on an Alpha 12 kit that will be built by the guys at AMS and shipped down under. A big thanks to Jeremy at Speed for Sale for sorting this all out and sourcing everything for me and to Eric at AMS and also Handbrake for answering my questions.

that's awesome mate

in for pics

also keen to see how much power is lost on the trip over to Aus... we never get the same dyno numbers they pull in US

you'd need the 12 kit to crack 1000 at the wheels here, I don't think the 10 kit would do it

We'll be tuning and running it on E85 so the end figures should be interesting and at least comparable to what the guys are seeing in the US. I agree 1,000 AWHP should be easier with the Alpha 12 kit and less stressful on the engine.

good work Seb - should be some fun.

Thanks Snowy, if I get over to Sandown or PI once it's fiished you should jump in for a couple of laps.

Wow mate, the Alpha10 made me excited... The 12... Now that is just awesome :D

When does it arrive?

Ash, hoping to have it all ready before Nationals, aiming for mid October at this stage.

Surely It would be close 35GTR's are not exactly light... The 10 has gone 163 and 12 169mph.. From the youtube videos of the 12 your going to need huge aero to keep this thing planted there having enough trouble driving it in a straight line let alone around a circuit.....

It will be interesting indeed.

From memory we were the first to run an 8 second pass out of an R32 - R34 GTR in Australia, looks like we will be the first to do the same with an R35. There is some very special development and technology going into this car which will make it stand apart from any other R35. Obviously we excited to be working with such a professional level engine system, and results will be forthcoming at Slips discretion :)

Alpha 12? Ay caramba!

We have a detuned alpha 10 running 750awhp on 21psi

We don't know how we are going to cope with the power when we run 30psi 'maximum attack' which is still to come! Admittedly we have much to do sorting out aero and suspension which should help but i am not sure how i would cope if we had the alpha 12 power! Having said that, you acclimatise quickly to the brute power and it becomes quite banal very quickly.

Knowing AMS it will be a strong package.

This car is going to be a monster!

    • Sane enough. Remove the roof liner, because the acid will go everywhere.
    • Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help and experienced opinions.  I have spent a lot of my life working on boats so I'm pretty good with fibreglass. I'll take everybody's advice in here;  I'll cut a little more of the 2nd layer away as it's a bit crunchy rust and also it's sitting high now. Then I'll wire brush it all a bit to get off anything loose, then I'll soak the bejesus out of it all in rust converter. I'll make sure to get a little hose piece and feed it into all the holes and gaps between the roof layers. Then I'll fibreglass up the holes.  Then I'll get a pallet of filler and mix it with 3 buckets of hardener and hope that is enough to build up the roof corner.  Does that sound sane? Is one type of filler better than others for this?
    • My goals for it atm are to get it registered, respray and some mild power gains eventually... I picked up the car from an elderly gentleman near the border of NSW and VIC, its honestly a bit rough and looks like its been driven on a farm (because there was so much dirt underneath). Last week I dropped the subframe and emptied the old fuel out + added a new fuel pump (think the old one went bad from old fuel). Now I'm onto fixing a coolant leak at the rear of the engine + adding a new radiator as the old one is corroded. After that i have a new bumper, coils (as the old were leaking) and lots more
    • Welcome buddy! Plenty on here and YouTube. What are your plans for it? Good luck with the Rwc and Rego bud!
    • Love this so much! Please post a photo when you have a bike on the trailer.  I was a little bit worried about having a tow bar on the Skyline, but having it hidden behind the number plate is genius
