Last time I am sending pictures on my phone.......

My silly phone screen displays colours that are SO different to what you see in real life / on a computer. I sent a picture of what I wanted as a final product thinking that the colour was perfect as per my phone - turns out it was symons gold and totally different to what I really want. Thankfully the boys @ Killer Kustoms were smart enough to pick up on it and thankfully confirmed before going ahead.

This is the picture I sent from my phone

This is the colour I actually want - subtle and not in your face

Top secret gold.

Looks a little dark because this is inside their office but looks nice in natural light.

Still waiting for my wheels to come back...(its killing me :ermm: )

Also need help with tyre sizing....

Rims are 18x9s

Was going to get 235 40 and 255 35 but a certain part of me still thinks 225 45 and 245 40 is the better way to go.

I like the look of streeeeetch

Good thing I hav'nt ordered them yet.

So looking for opinions but I want pictures to help me decide (as far as possible please)

Ordering my tyres this week from Tempe......Ku31s - 235 40 18 and 255 35 18 (some really awesome pricing).

Getting them fitted and balanced and will also get a wheel alignment done down at Killer Kustoms itself.

Went in this morning for a peak - they look awesome !!

^^^^ Personally just like the look of a broader / wider tyre at the back. Also more grip in a rear wheel drive would'nt hurt I suppose.

Apparently one school of thought (you know who you are) also suggests that a broader rear tyre and skinnier front gives you more stability, helps cornering etc - which I have my doubts about - hahaa...

BUT

to answer your question...just looks really

Btw....been meaning to ask - still got the red devil?

Still in due of a fresh coat of paint then im guessing?

We should get OON (is he back in town?) and finally do our photography session !!! I want to get one done as soon as the new rims go on and I tidy up some bits and bobs under the hood.

Just read from start to finish..awesome read man..love the wheels aswel..couldnt escape the gold ay..lol..your rig definateli looks the goods man!

Cheers Josh.....yeah thought long and hard about the colour choice.....gloss black with silver lip lost out by the smallest of margins :ninja:

Murdered out look is too common with all the falcadores and subivos so sticking to something different that works for me.

Update:

Change of plans with the tyres. Was not confident with the sizing options so went to speak to Aaron @ Westy's Warehouse this morning...undoubtedly a TOP BLOKE !! Great advice - heaps of patience with my umpteen and annoying questions - helpful and friendly.

 mate...cleared up a lot of doubts and clarified a lot of information.

Stay tuned

Bloody awful weather today - and its going to rain the whole week...how annoying.

Was playing with a photograph for a cover photo and thought I would upload it just for the heck of it..so here goes !! Sir Stigness visiting me :bunny:

Keeping in mind my obsession for as long as I can remember with the "GT" style wing ^^^^^^^^

...I just could not resist when I saw a black one for sale on here. Picked it up on Saturday morning - :thanks: Julian !! Best of luck with your project and was nice to meet you and chat.

So this is going to be my next project when I take my two weeks off work. Just around the corner actually come to think of it !!

Untitled_zpsbc6e8d95.jpg

Going to get another boot....flatten the edge so that it is all flush and then mount this wing on with EXTENDED STRUTS so that it is nice and high. Will naturally not keep it on the car for daily driving but plan to have it as an option for when I feel like. If you look at the picture above I want the wing to sit about 2 inches lower then where it sits at the moment - so nice and high but not so high that you can see it over the top of the car if you look at it from the front. It is wider then the GTR one so I am looking forward to being able to see it protrude nicely from both sides when you look at it from the front.

Will be looking for a stock boot lid for sale now - so let me know !! Any colour is fine as it is going to get modified and then painted.

You can buy flat/flush bootlids from a fair few places these days, think Just Jap stocks them, maybe even Seibon for a pricier option. Would probably be a LOT easier than flattening one out yourself mate.

Depends on what you mean by flattening. Do you want it to sit up flush with the tops of your quarter panels or just the little depression in either side where the stock wing sits flattened out? If your after the first one don't even bother trying just buy one if your after the second then it's achieveable but a bit of work involved in welding up the holes first.

Thnx for the heads up..been searching but all i could find were carbon fibre ones..do they do them in fibre glass?? Judging by the price of cf ones i thought it was prudent to just fabricate my own or have fun while creating at the very least

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
