Ditto. You just said you hated looking for second hand, and you want an Evo. Hence..

If you do find one though, look for rust. Look everywhere for rust. Not only on the rail, but in the wheel arches, and under the plastic bits. About 3 that I looked at were covered in rust, but I didn't find it until I was told where to look.

Look for ayc issues, oil level and lights etc.

Transfer case is a common leak as is the oil sump seal and the rocker cover seal is too..

Standard suspension usually leaks and knocks too.

To see if things have been changed in the engine bay, the original bolts have number 7 on the top.

Things I was told anyway

thanks for that man...

before i buy i'm gonna get a full inspection... probably from techsport or state roads.

I looked at one that was just out of my range that had a techsport inspection and i was impressed

this is why i am thinking of importing... can just give IM the $$$ and not spend my weekends looking at cars as it annoys me.

also, i know i might not save any $$$ or time, but in the end I will only ever have this time with my baby once and it's priceless

need to call aaron and have a better chat about it all

Yeh I had it inspected by two mechanics and sent racv to his house. He was rather pissed that I kept sending him everywhere lmao. But I was buying a car I wanted to make sure I was buying something good.

Speak to Aaron, or even northshore prestige in Sydney. Northshore is f**kig insane for quality, asked a few people to do inspections and they all said no need, the cars are 110% of the time perfect.

Lol, did you dance for them?

no

Rode to work today, no one looked at me

how do you carry your tools?

Awesome day on the spur, can't ask for better weather.

Few f**khead cars crossing over the lines, but what can you do...

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
