I scored a set of valve springs, but they are for RB26DETT.

Anyone used the valve springs from RB26 into a hydro RB25DET s1 head?

Its the HKS Step 2 ones.

RB26DETT 22001-AN001 For STEP2 BNR32, BCNR33, BNR34.

030910

I have got Tomei 270 8.8mm lift cams, in my rb25/30.

really would like to use these if i can.

any ideas?

So.. thanks for reminding me to call Paul, Mr Red R Racing comes through and answers a private number from overseas for once! was good to catch up...

So he mentioned that because these cams are not so big, it should be okay with stock springs, and that there will be no issues with the springs, but then he started being a detective and found some flaws with my setup and put me in the right direction!

car dropped a cyl once or twice, and once the engine even shut down... he said that I need to change the oil restrictor situation in the head, at the moment its setup as how sydneykid suggested in his thread but now for me I need to go back to twin 1.2mm feeds to give my lifters some more oil to stop them from bleeding and playing up.

also pointed out that the thick oil i am using aint going to help my situation either, i just switched to the lemans, so looks like its back to competition for me! (Motul)

Also, there is NO chance RB26DET springs will work in a Hydro rb25 vct liftered head. (for the searchers)

going to rip the head off and get this sorted asap!

cheers for all the input guys, im sorted

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
