Never do simple jobs when you know you will need the vehicle. How many times I have done a 5 min job b4 camping or a big trip and it turns to shit.

+1 to this haha.

I started last Tuesday with thinking I would fix my loose front bar.

Still havent got the car back on the road because I pulled it off then decided to clean the intercooler.

Then while I was at it decided to put the new SS1 in.

Its been nearly a week off the road now haha

it is why I bought a $450 3 cylinder 1L charade for a shitbox A-B car that never breaks down when my skyline is off the road.

Best part about that is 3 cylinder motors have the same exhasut harmonics as a 60 deg V12

go record some tunnel runs!!!

Kind of how a civic with a blown head gasket on cylinder 3 has the same harmonics as an EJ20?

Sounds awesome, till you realise its not. lol.

Steven,

Scooter for the Win. My skyline has been off the road for over 6 months. So for the past 6 months I Have been sharing a car with the wife, until this month when my work hours got changed.

Went and purchased a brand new Adly 50cc scooter for 2k. My 14.4KM journey to work is now extremely fun, fuel costs have gone down from $75pw to $20pw(Including oil) and biggest thing, parking has gone from $75pw to nothing.

Only thing I have yet to figure out is how to have my 2 morning drive smokes when on the scooter.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
